Good experience, but could be better
Overall a good experience but slow to start, not many tips given by instructor. Climbers are sort of left to their own devices to figure it out. No water provided.

A must to
My partner and I had the absolute best experience with the team from Real Rocks. They picked us up from right outside of our hotel on Railay beach, brought all the things that we needed. We then had a beautiful and phenomenal time climbing several different rock faces. The guides were kind and patient and we were so grateful that we did it. Our Guide, Faruk, was helpful to make sure we felt safe and took advantage of all we could that day. He was helpful and told us how to climb up the difficult walls, it was incredible.

Perfect
Amazing experience since pickup, can’t recommend enough for all types of climbers. Gear is all brand new and the team has excellent belayers. Staff is all super fun, friendly and make the whole experience 5 stars. Shout out to Farouk!

Poor communication and guidance
I was really disappointed with this tour. The communication was poor from the start, and as a solo traveller it made the whole experience quite uncomfortable. I shared my hotel details and asked about the pick-up time, but I didn’t receive any response and had to chase multiple times. When I arrived in Railay, I was left on my own with no one to meet me off the boat. I had to wander around and eventually found the guide at the end of the platform. I was then placed with one other girl who had done a full-day course. There was no introduction, no support with getting my equipment on, and no basic guidance. Thankfully she helped me, because without her I would’ve had no idea what to do. The climbing itself was a great experience, but that was down to the location, not this tour. The guide’s English was extremely limited, which made communication even more difficult. I even did a few climbs without a helmet and the guide didn’t care. On the way back, we were crammed onto a small boat filled with local workers, which is definitely not what I expected or what I felt I’d paid for. Overall, it just wasn’t the experience advertised
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us, and we are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We take your comments seriously, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to understand what happened. We sincerely apologize for the communication issues you faced before the trip. That should not have happened, and we are reviewing our process to ensure that all guests—especially solo travellers—receive clear and timely information regarding pick-up and meeting points. We are also very sorry that you felt unsupported upon arrival and during the preparation. Our guides are expected to assist with equipment, provide safety instructions, and ensure every guest feels comfortable, regardless of experience level. It is concerning to hear that you had to rely on another participant for help, and we will address this with our team immediately. Regarding the guide’s limited English skills and the missing helmet during some climbs, this is absolutely not up to our safety standards. Safety is our priority, and we are investigating this incident to ensure it does not happen again. As for the return boat, we understand your concern. Railay only offers public longtail boats, and depending on the time of day, boats may also be shared with local workers. However, we should have explained this clearly to avoid any confusion or discomfort. Although we are glad to hear that you still enjoyed the climbing itself, we are very sorry that the overall experience was not as advertised. We appreciate your honesty, and your feedback will help us improve our service for future guests.

A great climbing experience.
We felt very safe and secure with our climbing instructors. Their guidance and attention to our needs was superb. The climbs were in a spectacular location, perhaps a little tough for a complete novice but very enjoyable nonetheless. We booked a morning session to avoid the heat of the afternoon but as this coincided with high-tide, the beach was very crowded with tourists visiting the nearby phallus-shrines, although chaotic, it didn't have any adverse affect on our climbing experience once we commenced. Would thoroughly recommend Real Rock climbing!

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krabi.
How much does Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krabi is not rushed.
Is Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 165 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Krabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi?
+
Around 58 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krabi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Beginner's Half-Day Rock Climbing Tours at Railay Beach Krabi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krabi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krabi?
+
On Outty we rank every Krabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Phi Phi Islands Tour with Lunch from Krabi, Phi Phi Early Bird & 4 Islands - Day Tour by Speedboat From Krabi, Railay and 4-Island Sunset Speedboat Cruise with Night Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krabi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krabi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
