Great experience for our first dance lesson

I surprised my wife with a private swing dance lesson and I do not regret it. We had a great time with Rick and his partner as instructors. We definitely recommend booking your next date night or surprise birthday gift with them.

Response from the operator: Jason, thank you for choosing us for such a special surprise! We really appreciate the recommendation and are so glad your private country swing lesson turned into such a fun Nashville memory. Date nights like that are truly the best. - Ellah

    Misleading Description

The class was great but we were only taught Swing not the two step as the description indicated, which was disappointing.

Response from the operator: Hey Deb, it's Rick. We are so glad you enjoyed your class and are truly grateful that you voiced your concerns. We took your input seriously and reworded the country swing class description so that others can feel confident that they are getting exactly what we say they will get. As explained in class, the dance that most tourists tell us they want to learn is "the country dance with the spins and dips." While they typically call it two step, since that's the only country dance most people have ever heard of, what they actually want to learn is country swing. Country swing is almost all spins, dips, tricks and fancy moves. It's the dance that people see in the movies but unfortunately don't know it's proper name. To illustrate this point, country artist Ellah Langley has a song out called, Choosing Texas, where she sings about two step. Yet, in the background of the entire video, is one of our Turn Their Heads students doing country swing the entire time. It's no wonder people are confused. Most people visiting Nashville want to learn an easy, fun dance that allows them to go out dancing that same night which is exactly what country swing is. With all its movement, turns and spins, it's fun to do and fun to watch, yet much easier and faster to learn than two step. However, for those who want to learn two step, we offer private lessons. We only offer private lessons for two step because it's that much more difficult for most people and requires rhythm and timing which most beginners lack. It is definitely not for folks with two left feet, unlike country swing which is great for anyone at any level. Again, we are grateful that you had fun in class learning country swing and that you voiced your opinion. We have made changes to the description as a result and believe that it is more clear now. Again, thank you so so much. It's because of people like you that we can continue to grow and provide the best service and lessons to our guests. We hope that you continue to use the country swing moves that you learned in class and that you continue to add to them and dance for a lifetime.

Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nashville.

How much does Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day cost?

    +

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nashville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nashville is not rushed.

Is Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nashville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nashville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nashville and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beginner's Country Swing Dance Class - Dance Downtown That Day start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nashville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nashville?

    +

Nashville's activity mix is unusually music-heavy: Ryman and Opry backstage tours, RCA Studio B sessions, songwriter rounds and honky-tonk crawls on Broadway. Around that sit distillery runs to Lynchburg and general-admission pedal taverns. Outty Ranking penalises the crawl operators that oversell group size, which is the most common complaint in this city. On Outty we rank every Nashville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Nashville: Authentic Food Tour with 5 Tastings of Local Dishes, Nashville RCA Studio B & Country Music Hall of Fame Ticket Combo, Nashville's Wildest Honky Tonk Public Party Bus (21+). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nashville?

    +

April to May and September to October, when patios open and the humidity drops. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nashville?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
