    Beautiful Scenery

Great trip. Very peaceful. Saw lots of birds, ducks and geese. Saw a bear crossing the river, which was definitely the highlight.

Great paddle alongside the Biltmore property

We had a great time! Everyone was super friendly at Asheville Adventure Co. It was quite a haul! 7 miles on the river; it’s a lot farther than you think! Took us about 2-1/2 hours of steady paddling! Good workout! Water was low, so had to navigate a bit through the rapids. Once we figured it out we were fine. Once they drop you off, you are on your own. Worth the price. Could see a quick view of the Biltmore house in the distance, and paddled along the property. Overall a great adventure!

    A great kayaking experience!

We had an absolutely wonderful time kayaking down the French Broad River with AAC. Eric and the staff expertly prepared us beforehand. The trip was magical - the birds, the shoreline! We highly recommend this outfit and tour when you visit Asheville!

Disappointing! Tour was way too long.

The description of the tour is a little deceptive. It was not very scenic, it was the exact same landscape the entire trip. You saw the Biltmore for about a minute. The tour was way too long! Should only be an hour long.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear the kayaking trip didn't meet your expectations. Our self-guided kayaking trip follows the French Broad River through Asheville and is designed to be a relaxed paddle that showcases the area's river corridor, including views of the Biltmore Estate, local wildlife, and the surrounding mountains. As described on our website and covered during our safety briefing, trip duration is dependent on river flow and water levels. Under normal conditions, the trip can take up to approximately four hours to complete, and actual paddle times will vary based on current conditions and each group's pace. We understand that this style and length of trip may not be what every guest is looking for, and we appreciate your feedback. Your comments help us continue setting clear expectations so guests can choose the adventure that's the best fit for them.

Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Asheville.

How much does Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Asheville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Asheville is not rushed.

Is Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Asheville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore?

    +

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Asheville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Asheville and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beautiful Self Guided Kayaking by the Biltmore start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Asheville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Asheville?

    +

Asheville pairs Biltmore Estate visits with Blue Ridge Parkway waterfall tours, brewery crawls through one of the densest beer scenes in America, and guided hikes in Pisgah. Biltmore ticket handling and parkway route detail are what to check. On Outty we rank every Asheville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Ridge Parkway and Waterfall Hiking Tour from Asheville, Asheville Historic Downtown Guided Electric Bike Tour with Scenic Views, Gem Mining and Goat Farm Walking Tour in Hendersonville. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Asheville?

    +

April to June and October for autumn colour. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Asheville?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
