Two Outstanding Private Tours with Kanpai

We did two private tours with Kanpai and both were outstanding. The first was the full day Annecy and Perouges Tour and the second was the half day Beaujolais Wine Discovery Tour. Olivier is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. In Annecy he guided us through the town hitting the most import sites and providing us with an historical background. The boat tour of Lake Annecy that was included provided us with picturesque view of the mountains surrounding it as well as its lakeside villages. On the way back to Lyon we toured the medieval city of Perouges which included a stop at the Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges Restaurant to sample a Galette de Pérouges, We were back at our hotel in Lyon in time for dinner. Olivier provided us with some great restaurant options for our remaining days in Lyon, As mentioned we also took the private half day Beaujolais Wine Discover Tour with Olivier as well a few days later. Another outstanding authentic experience. The drive through the Tuscan like countryside and the stop at the town of Oingt was magical. Because it was the Christmas season we were able to experience the nativity scenes each house creates and displays for visitors. One of the wine tastings was in Oingt at Terroir Des Pierres Dorées - Cave à vins Beaujolais. The other was at a small local producer Domaine de Fond-Vieille where we were greeted by the owner and his wife and were able to tour the vineyard and the wine make facilities as well as have an excellent tasting with local bread, cheese and sausage accompanying it. I can't recommend Olivier and Kanpai enough. His tours were a major highlight of our 23 days in France. We would not hesitate to take another private tour with him.

Response from the operator: Bonsoir Curt, It was such a pleasure for me to guide you these 2 days. I am so happy that you liked the sights, the tastings and the French Countryside. I wish you all the best from Lyon, France. My warm regards to you and your mother, Olivier

Had a great afternoon with Olivier in the Beaujolais region: we tasted different wines, saw many highlights of the region and got interesting explanations from Olivier. We definitely recommend taking a tour with Kanpai.

great experience and value

We booked with Olivier for two 1/2 day wine tours in 2 regions. He explained well in English to us the sites and the wines, and we visited 2 wineries each day. He has an excellent knowledge of the wines of this regions, the soils, their varieties, and has very good personal connections with several of the wineries and staff. The van of 8 persons was comfortable and demonstrated good driving skills and choosing the routings. On both tours all of us were very satisfied with the experience and highly recommend his tours and skills. My wife and I are 80 YO and from CA wine region and have had many wine tours and this was very excellent. I recommend touring with Olivier and had we more time we would have gladly chosen some more for his quality and their value. stan and maurine of Los Altos CA

Response from the operator: Thank you very much Stan !

Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lyon.

How much does Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day cost?

+

Prices start at $84 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lyon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day take?

+

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lyon is not rushed.

Is Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lyon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lyon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lyon and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beaujolais Wine Discovery - Private Tour - Half Day start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lyon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lyon?

+

On Outty we rank every Lyon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lyon Highlights & Secrets Walking Guided Tour (small group) including Funicular, Vieux Lyon Cultural & Historical Walking Guided Tour (English), Highlights and Hidden Gems of Lyon Guided Walking Tour (English). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lyon?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lyon?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
