    Life changing tour

Demi, our tour guide was excellent. She was funny, knowledgeable and her love of Greek culture really brought the Acropolis to life for us. Demi, you should be very proud of what you do. I will never forget this tour. Life changing.

    Good experience

Very good tour but very strenuous and only for fit people. I feel like this was not clear when booking and a number of people really struggled

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback — we’re glad you enjoyed the tour! The Acropolis does involve some uphill walking, and we take the route at a relaxed pace, with regular breaks and stops along the way to make it manageable for most guests. We’re sorry to hear that some guests found it more strenuous than expected, and we’ll look at making the physical demands even more prominent when booking so everyone can come fully prepared.

    Amazing guide!!

Fantastic guide; we leaned so much from Stefanos. He was super educated on the Acropolis (and Athens, in general) and his ability to explain (in English) made it easy ro enjoy this experience!

Great tour for a short visit in Athens

Very experienced and knowledgeable guide. She was very understanding to the heat and found shade for us while telling stories. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids (8, 12 and 20) and the information shared was perfect for the full family. The tour was very interesting and even better than expected. We learned a lot. I highly recommend going to the acropolis museum first if possible. It made the tour even more interesting!

Paid..but NO TOUR..we were told extra tickets needed in order to go!

This was booked with 'tripadvisor' NO.. we did not enjoy 'Beat the heat' walking tour of the acropolis..as despite paying £246.26,..we were told a last minute extra payment, should have been made! We booked for this tour, when it said, only 10 tickets left and paid for 6 people to enjoy it. However , we were not aware, that paying for this did not include the actual ticket! When we qued up with the group, we found that a further ticket had to be purchased to the area! We had already paid £246.26! Of course, we were upset, we thought we'd paid for our tickets through trip advisor. When i looked up transaction details, i saw it was paid through viator on 10th june £246.26 for 6 people. Anyway, as we hoped not to miss out completely, we agreed to try purchase the afore mentioned, area tickets.. However, these were completely sold out! Therefore we were not able to go on this 'beat the heat' acroplis tour! I want a refund for this whole upsetting experience. It was very unclear when i purchased these tickets that a further payment had to be made! I paid £246.26 and got nothing! So. ' NO' We did not enjoy 'beat the heat' walking experience in Athens

Response from the operator: Dear Sally, We're sorry to hear about your disappointment. However, we'd like to clarify that our tour description clearly states that Acropolis entrance tickets are not included and must be purchased separately. We made multiple attempts to contact you before your tour to inform you of this requirement and to assist you in securing the tickets. We sent reminders on 25 May, 5 June, and 11 June, as well as a WhatsApp message, but unfortunately we did not receive a response. By the day of your tour, the Acropolis entrance tickets had sold out, so it was no longer possible to join the tour. We understand how frustrating this was, but we did everything we could to communicate the ticket requirements in advance. We wish you the best in your future travels.

Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group cost?

    +

Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 173 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group?

    +

Around 61 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Beat the Heat Acropolis Tour - Small group start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
