    They never showed up!!!

I took an hour long train to get there. Was there over half hour early. Waited until half hour after meeting time - THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. I tried contacting them via Viator and WeChat - no answer! Waste of my time and money!

Response from the operator: Hi, I’ve checked your booking and found it has been cancelled, and your refund has been processed. Unfortunately, we failed to receive your booking information because of VPN issues. We also didn’t get your WeChat messages. This is our WeChat number: 19108887480. Please contact us directly before your scheduled start date. The system confirms bookings automatically, so sometimes we are unaware of bookings when there are VPN-related problems. We are deeply sorry for all the inconvenience caused. Linda

    Amazing experience overall!

Spent an amazing day doing this tour! We started by exploring a local market, it was super lively and authentic. It really felt like stepping into the lives that locals experience in Chongqing. Later, we learned how to make simple Chongqing snacks at home. I was surprised how easy the recipes were to follow and they were all pretty tasty. We also had a nice paper-cutting lesson. Our Host Xu was so friendly, we were given a beautifully framed piece as a gift at the end to keep as a souvenir! This experience was meaningful and fun. I highly recommend it!

    Life experience 🙌🏻

I had a wonderful time with Linda brother the host Xu. He brought us to the wet market to see the real China life, and the real sichuan pepper we cooked we made dumplings at home. It was my first time to know how to make dumplings definitely an unforgettable experience and we nerd other yummy homestyle Sichuan dishes that I’m going to make at home definitely when I got home later we went to the coolest mall that I have ever seen the ring more and we did the traditional Chinese writing. It was all good arrangement and unforgettable experience.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chongqing.

How much does Be a Chongqinger - wet market tour &cooking class & paper cutting cost?

    +

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chongqing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Be a Chongqinger - wet market tour &cooking class & paper cutting take?

Is Be a Chongqinger - wet market tour &cooking class & paper cutting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chongqing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Be a Chongqinger - wet market tour &cooking class & paper cutting?

How far in advance should I book Be a Chongqinger - wet market tour &cooking class & paper cutting?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chongqing and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Chongqing?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chongqing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chongqing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
