Bazaar Saturday - Convent of Carmen - San Angel

Want to go again

My traveling companion suggested we go early. That was a good idea. We had a lovely breakfast nearby and walked over to the park where artists had their workout. She found an artist she'd purchased a few years back and bought a couple more pieces from him. There were a lot of good things and the prices really did range. Then we went back into the place where we had breakfast and stalls had opened for business. There's beautiful work and lovely things but for me the prices were a little much, though the artistry in quality was wonderful. Be sure to walk around a couple of the streets. There's a few other places two as well and a lovely church and park. We found a store selling really great works and it was fun to just see all the craftsmanship and creativity available. Next time I go back I will realize I need to take out a little extra money to go here. These are artists and fine artisans and they deserve what they're charging. It was our first adventure and I was waiting for that perfect piece. That always seems to cause me grief. Hopefully for you it will not and you'll find lots of treasures cuz there's quite a few. It was a lovely time and an interesting walk to the Diego Rivera and Frida kahlo home studio which I would also recommend.

Restaurant Bazar de Sabado in San Angel

It is a "Turist trap" the restaurant has soaring prices and the quality of the food is horrible. Nothing tastes right, part of the order arrived cold or unfinished. In the service the waiters and their assistants do what they can but have no training. And the worst part is that once you intend to invoice on their portal, it turns out not to work; it is impossible to get the invoice. In short the experience is to help own and strangers... and in tourist area is really expensive of Mexico abusive and without interest in its visitors.

Eduardo was a great guide. He was knowledgeable and very funny. St. Angel Bazaar is worth the trip. Go see/buy art.

Very interesting....

Very interesting. Beautiful arts and crafts. Sergio Toledo was a great guide. Obviously, only available on Saturday. There are several permanent shops.
