  3. Bukit Melawati

Silver-Leafed Monkeys - and long-tailed macaques are the main draw to the Melawati Hill. The significant difference between the silver-leafed babies as compared to the adults is that these babies have golden fur while the adults have dull grey colours. These monkeys are a delight; they are gentle and playful. The long-tailed macaques, on the other hand, are generally a little more mischievous and if you turn your back for a second - you'd never know what they might do. A gentle reminder to exercise precautions with these lovely and wild animals, which can be quite erratic at times despite having so much human interaction.

The darkness gives way to the spectacular twinkling of thousands of fireflies, creating a magical light show that illuminates the trees and reflects on the water. The tranquil setting and close proximity to nature make this tour a unique and memorable adventure, perfect for couples or families looking to connect with nature and witness one of Malaysia’s best natural wonders. Fireflies - are also called “Lightning Bugs” and they belong to the nocturnal luminous beetle family Lampyridae. Within quiet and serene surroundings, these fireflies live very happily in the “Berembang” trees and shine like fire in the night to attract a mate. Come on down and enjoy the “Malaysian Version of Xmas”!

Amazing trip with superb guide VJ

This was without doubt the highlight of our trip to KL. We were very fortunate to have a fantastic guide called VJ who was kind, helpful and informative and really went out of his way to make this a special day. His English was also perfect and very clear. We saw the wonderful Batu Caves and temples, visited a pewter factory, Hot water springs, Monkeys and fireflies with a wonderful meal in a great local restaurant over looking the river. Highly recommended

Yes to all !!

Again we had a great guide who took us for a half day tour, first the caves which are really amazing and the steps to get there not as bad as everyone says, just watch out for the little monkeys who can be quite cheeky. Caves offer great views inside and out. We also had the opportunity to see how the local materials are made which was quite fascinating. The silver leave eating monkeys are very cool and amazingly tame around people. The trip out to the seafood restaurant along the river is very enjoyable and the seafood dinner even more so. Three different types of seafood and all very tasty!! The only let down was the fireflies, not seeing them of course thats always amazing, just the large groups of people on long outboard boats which wasn't what we had in mind.....

Response from the operator: Greetings from Shajasa! It is nice to hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. On behalf of Shajasa Travel, it has been our pleasure serving you. We hope you brought home loads of joyful n wonderful memories from Malaysia. Terima Kasih dan Jumpa Lagi (Thank you and See you again)

Disappointment

The content was a fulfilling tour. However, after a trouble on the way, I felt very sorry because there was no apology from the company. I think the driver did his best, but I think the safety check should be done sufficiently. Although it was participation with children, my kids were very shocked by the experience of the day.

Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuala Lumpur.

How much does Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner cost?

+

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuala Lumpur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuala Lumpur is not rushed.

Is Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuala Lumpur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuala Lumpur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuala Lumpur and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Batu Caves & Firefly Cruise from Kuala Lumpur with Seafood Dinner start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuala Lumpur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuala Lumpur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sambal Streets Kuala Lumpur Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Genting Highland & Batu Cave Guided Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour), Private Half-Day Batu Caves and Cutural Tour in Kuala Lumpur. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuala Lumpur?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
