What you get

    About this experience

Get ready to live an authentic experience in the heart of Bari, in a secret place that holds the true spirit of Apulian cuisine. In the company of a local guide, you will put your hands in the dough to prepare two symbols of tradition: the focaccia from Bari, queen of street food, soft and crisp with juicy cherry tomatoes, which even beat the Genoese focaccia in a last-ditch challenge, and the handmade orecchiette, prepared according to the ancient Bari technique, celebrated by the New York Times as a heritage to be protected. After the lesson, we will sit at the table to enjoy together the fruit of our work, accompanied by a good local wine and stories that smell of tradition. An intimate, engaging and genuine experience, designed for those who want to discover the true soul of Bari through its cuisine.

    Nice class

The class was interesting. You mix the dough, but eat the focaccia and the orchestra someone else prepared, because they need time to sit.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad you found the class interesting. As traditional focaccia dough needs time to rise, the focaccia enjoyed during the class is prepared in advance, while you still get to learn and practice the complete preparation process yourself. We appreciate your comments and hope you enjoyed discovering the traditions behind Bari’s focaccia and orecchiette!

    We had a great experience...

We had a great experience in a small group learning how to make focaccia & pasta the authentic Bari way. Although the cook couldn't speak English her neice interpreted & between them they were a great team & made it fun. Food was yummy & we left with full, happy bellies!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed learning how to make authentic Bari-style focaccia and pasta in such a fun and friendly atmosphere. It’s wonderful to know that the cook and her niece made such a great team and helped make the experience enjoyable for everyone. And of course, we’re very happy you left with full and happy bellies! We hope to welcome you back again soon!

A lovely way to discover Italian food and culture

We had a wonderful experience at the focaccia and pasta-making workshop, guided by Silvia and Marica. Both were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience had a lovely multicultural atmosphere. Silvia was especially warm and engaging. She made sure everyone was involved, kept the conversation going, and helped participants from different countries — Brazil, the Netherlands, and Romania — get to know each other and connect. Marica took great care to make sure that all the dishes turned out perfectly and was always there to help. The workshop was relaxed, fun, and very enjoyable. It was also a great experience for children, especially those making pasta and focaccia with their own hands for the first time. A lovely way to discover Italian food and culture while meeting people from around the world. Highly recommended! A big thank you for Silvia & Marica, hope to see you again :)!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that Silvia and Marica made your focaccia and pasta-making workshop such a warm, fun, and memorable experience. It’s especially wonderful to know that the multicultural atmosphere helped everyone connect and enjoy the class together, and that both adults and children felt involved and supported throughout. We’ll be very happy to share your kind words with Silvia and Marica. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.

How much does Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette cost?

    +

Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.

Is Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 156 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette?

    +

Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bari Cooking Class : Traditional Focaccia & Orecchiette start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bari?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Polignano a Mare: Boat Tour of the Caves - Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bari?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bari?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
