About this experience

Barcelona is a wine and tapas city, but the tourist core does justice to neither. This small group tour fixes that. A certified sommelier walks you through Sant Antoni, a genuine local neighbourhood the tour buses skip, pairing four artisan Spanish wines with seven creative tapas, 11 tastings in all, across three unhurried, seated stops at family run restaurants. You taste your way from a cava to a bold Rioja red, and learn exactly why each pairing works. Because the sommelier chooses around the season and what is best that week, no two tours are quite the same. You will leave with a personal list of bars and restaurants for the rest of your trip, and lunch or dinner already taken care of.

Wine Knowledge & Hidden Gems

Our tour guide Kailie was phenomenal. She had extensive knowledge of wines not only from Spain, but from other regions of the globe. Her ability to cross reference helped us understand the world of wines better. Additionally, we were exposed to a lesser known area of Barcelona, full of hidden gem wine bars and tapas restaurants. We 1,000% recommend this tour!

10/10 Experience!

What a beautiful experience in an incredible city. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and was so kind and polite. She was super friendly, relatable, and by the end, felt like another friend in the group. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for these kind words! We’re thrilled the experience felt special and that your guide made you feel like part of the group, that warmth is exactly what we aim for on every tour. We’ll be sure to pass along your praise to her. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back to Barcelona soon!

Tasty eats and vino with Javier

Javier is knowledgeable, articulate and had a great sense of humor. You can always judge a person by how they are greeted by people and everywhere we went people genuinely loved seeing him. Wines were exciting to try also. Highly recommend him. !!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for this Corina, it genuinely made my day. Trying wines with people who are as curious as you guys were, is my favorite part of doing this, so I'm happy the tastings were fun. And you're kind to mention the welcomes we got around the restaurants. I've been lucky to build those friendships over the years. Come back whenever you're in Barcelona. There are always more bottles worth opening. Cheers.

Food and wine tour with sommelier

It was such an enjoyable experience we had with our sommelier Kaylee. She was so sweet and very knowledgeable about our wine and food pairing and history of Barcelona and vineyard in the area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a love for food and wine. Thank you so much for an amazing evening.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your evening with Kailie and appreciated her knowledge of wine, food pairings, and Barcelona’s local history. Creating relaxed, meaningful experiences around great food and wine is exactly what we hope to offer. Thank you for recommending us, we hope to welcome you back to Barcelona one day!

Fantastic Food and Wines

Guide was fabulous. It wound up being only 4 of us and the places she chose were outstanding. The food and wince choices were top notch and was definitely the best tour we took in Barcelona. I would recommend doing this tour the first night or 2 in Barcelona as we would have wanted to go back to some of the restaurants for dinner. Only feedback I have is to change the meeting point directions to 1 Rda de Sant Paul vice 11. Once I GPS “Stay Together Barcelona Apartments”, I had no trouble finding her.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We’re truly happy to hear this was your favorite tour in Barcelona and that you enjoyed both the food and wine selections so much! I’ll also make sure your kind words are passed along to your guide, she’ll be delighted to hear them. We also really appreciate the helpful feedback regarding the meeting point. The Viator app occasionally redirects guests incorrectly through its native maps integration, which is why we always recommend using Google Maps directly and checking the exact address shown on the voucher itself. Thankfully, once you searched “Stay Together Barcelona Apartments,” it sounds like everything became much easier to find. We loved hosting you and truly appreciate the recommendation to future travelers. Hopefully we’ll welcome you back again on your next visit to Barcelona.

Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier cost?

+

Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 368 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier?

+

Around 129 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Barcelona Small Group Wine & Tapas Tour with a Sommelier start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
