Still hungry and disappointed

Our original time got pushed back from 1400 to 1445. The meeting spot was also changed. Upon arrival we got a quick history of the square and then went to our first stop. We only stopped at 4 places to eat which was somewhat disappointing. We also didn’t have time to sit and enjoy some conversation and food until the last stop. Our tour guide was very nice, but seemed like he was in a hurry to go someplace else and seemed to be making up the tour as we went.

Liliia was phenomenal!

Liliia was a fantastic guide! She shared so much wonderful information—not only about the foods we tasted, but also about Barcelona’s food culture and traditions. Her personality and fascinating life story made the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. I gave four stars rather than five only because, on a previous food tour I took in Portugal, six tastings meant visiting six different venues. On this tour, we visited three venues, sitting for tastings at two. That said, this is really just a comparison between two different tours, which isn’t necessarily fair. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Liliia and thoroughly enjoyed learning about Barcelona through its food!

Although the food was...

Although the food was great, there were a few miscommunications re: this tour. Our guide was at what Viator said was the end point. Therefore we lost time with him walking over to us. Also, our guide said it was a two hour tour, not a three hour tour as listed in Viator. He was going by time (I get it), not stops. Therefore we only stopped at a dessert place (first) and one restaurant. That being said, the desserts were wonderful and at the restaurant we tried 7 different items which were quite good. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. He gets a high rating, but, overall, we were disappointed.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for the kind words about the food and your guide, it genuinely means a lot to hear that the experience left a positive impression there, and we will make sure he knows. That said, the issues you raised are real and fair, and we take them seriously. The discrepancy between the tour duration listed on Viator and what was communicated on the day is something we need to align more carefully with our hosts, and your feedback helps us do exactly that. We are sharing your comments with the team and with the guide so we can tighten up both the logistics and the communication before the next guests arrive. Barcelona deserves to be experienced without these kinds of hiccups, and we hope you still left with some wonderful memories. Kind Regards, The Withlocals Team

We waited at the location...

We waited at the location and no one was there and the location was closed. We looked all around and no one could locate the reference location. My wife was ripping mad and we left on our own. Later we got a whatsapp saying we're to meet which was not even close to the meeting location. It was several blocks away, but the message didn't arrive until an 1/2 hour later from when he first sent it. I was not a happy camper after spending $240...

Response from the operator: Dear Richard, We are sorry to hear about the frustration and confusion on the day. We take all feedback seriously and looked into this carefully. Our records show that our host Lluis was at the published meeting point from before the 12:00 start and remained there for over 30 minutes, calling and messaging throughout. At 12:11 we received a message from your party saying you could not find the location, and we responded immediately with the host's direct number. Unfortunately, his subsequent calls and messages went unanswered, and we did not hear back from you during the tour window. We understand how stressful it can be when something goes wrong on a trip, and we genuinely wish the communication went more smoothly. For future reference, our hosts' direct phone number is always included in your booking confirmation and is the fastest way to reach them on the day. Kind Regards, The Withlocals Team

Complete rip off, spent...

Complete rip off, spent 200 pounds for 3 people, had one small sharing plate of tapas and a sharing dessert only. Would not recommend and I wish I could be refunded.

Response from the operator: Dear Arianna, We are genuinely sorry to hear that your Barcelona experience felt this way. Feeling that a tour did not deliver on its promise is a real frustration, and we want you to know we have not taken your feedback lightly. We have shared your feedback directly with your host and highlighted that presentation and the overall sense of abundance matter just as much as the quality of the food itself. We are committed to using moments like this to raise the bar and make sure future guests have the experience they signed up for. Barcelona is a city with so much to offer and we hope it still delivered some great memories. We would love the chance to change your impression of what a Withlocals tour can be. Until next time, all the best. Kind Regards, The Withlocals Team

Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings cost?

+

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 521 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings?

+

Around 182 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Barcelona Private Food Tour With Locals: 6 or 10 Tastings start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
