We had an amazing tour...
We had an amazing tour with Pau. We learned so much about the city, the culture, and food. His passion for the city allowed us to get a true understanding of how its history remains alive in the modern era. We really appreciated Pau tailoring the to us. We mostly walked but also utilized the great transit system to reach more areas. We had one of the best meals with him at a fantastic restaurant. We highly recommend Pau.
Response from the operator: We’re so glad to hear this experience gave you such a rich feel for the city, from culture and history to food, and that it all felt thoughtfully tailored to you. Knowing you were able to explore widely, mix walking with transit, and enjoy such a memorable meal along the way means a lot to us, thank you for sharing your recommendation.

Best guide in the city
We had a fantastic tour with Allan. He was punctual, extremely well prepared, and clearly experienced with families—he knew how to keep our small children engaged so we could still see all the highlights of Barcelona. When our son unexpectedly needed a doctor, Allan handled everything swiftly and professionally, smoothing out the situation within minutes and keeping us calm. He is caring, efficient, and focused on giving clients the best possible experience. If you’re visiting with kids or want someone who plans thoughtfully and acts quickly in an emergency, Allan comes highly recommended.
Response from the operator: We’re thrilled to hear your Barcelona experience with Allan was so exceptional! It’s wonderful that his professionalism, care, and thoughtful planning made the day both enjoyable and stress-free for your family — even in an unexpected moment. Thank you for your heartfelt words and glowing recommendation!

Gaudi and more!
This was a fantastic private tour with Alfredo! Alfredo and City Unscripted were great in getting in touch before the tour to see what my interests were and what I wanted to do, and working with me to plan the day. I really wanted to visit several Gaudi sites in Barcelona, and Alfredo was very open with working with that plan. He also gave me a heads up in advance about the weather forecast (rain) and we adjusted our plan for the day. There was excellent communication before and during the tour. Alfredo was great in allowing me to explore different transportation options available in the city (walking, metro, and taxi) in a safe way with him to get to different places and see a lot of the City. He pointed out some beautiful and unique spots in the City with murals, architecture, and artwork that I would have missed. He was very knowledgeable and great with answering questions. He provided a safe, fun, informative tour specific to what I wanted to see. I would highly recommend Alfredo as a tour guide!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It’s great to know that the communication and flexibility in planning helped make your tour memorable. We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to Alfredo. We hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!

Wonderful tour with Frederico
Our guide, Frederico, made this a wonderful day for us. We had only the afternoon and evening to see the city, and Frederico made the most of it. He met us at our hotel, which we appreciated. We saw the beauty of the city, easily rode the train to get to a couple of spots, and had plenty of time to ask questions, take photos and learn about the city. Frederico's love of Barcelona is evident and contagious. We had dinner in great spot for tapas and walked through all the sites we wanted to see, including a wonderful local market and a 360 view of the city from the top of a hotel. Frederico's knowledge of the history of Barcelona and present-day Barcelona made this a fascinating tour, and I highly recommend it!
Response from the operator: I'm glad to hear that Frederico was able to make the most of your afternoon and evening, showing you the beauty of the city and providing insightful commentary along the way. It's wonderful when a guide's passion for their city shines through and enhances the tour experience.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.
How much does Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours) cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours) take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.
Is Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours)?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Barcelona: Private & Custom Walking Tour with a Local (8-hours) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Barcelona?
+
Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Barcelona?
+
May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Barcelona?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
