Great tour, great way to see the city, and awesome guide.
On a recent family trip to Barcelona, Spain, I was fortunate enough to get away for an evening and spend six hours exploring the city with Aperture Tours. This was my third experience with Aperture, following previous photography tours in London and Paris, and once again I came away having had a wonderful experience—and with far more photographs that I was happy with than I expected. For this tour, my guide was Emily, and she was absolutely fantastic. Before we started, I showed Emily some of my photography and explained what I hoped to get out of our time together. Barcelona is an incredibly vibrant and busy city, and after spending some time there I was having trouble cutting through all of that visual noise and finding my own photographic vision. I wanted to concentrate primarily on architecture and street photography and, more than anything, find a different way of seeing the city. Emily understood exactly what I was looking for. We explored areas including Ciutat Vella, the Gothic Quarter, Estació de França, Parc de l’Estació del Nord, and plenty of streets and places in between. Rather than simply following a predetermined route, the evening evolved as we went. Emily adapted to what interested me, helped us stay away from some of the heavier crowds, identified subjects and opportunities I might otherwise have missed, and allowed my own expectations for the evening to evolve as we explored. What really made this tour special, though, was Emily herself. When we met and I saw that she had brought her own camera, I was immediately excited. In all of the photography tours I have taken over the years, it has been surprisingly rare to have a guide who is also actively making photographs alongside me. That completely changed the dynamic of the evening. Instead of feeling like I was simply being led around Barcelona by someone showing me where to take photographs, it felt much more like walking around the city with a friend and fellow photographer. Emily would notice something and make a photograph; I would find something completely different. We shared ideas, compared what we were seeing, occasionally looked at each other’s images, and talked about why something caught our attention. Her passion for street photography was obvious, and it made the experience that much more enjoyable. Emily also did an excellent job of recognizing my experience level. She never treated the tour as though I needed to be taught how to use my camera, but she also never assumed there wasn’t anything she could offer technically. She shared suggestions when they were appropriate and reminded me of techniques and habits that I once knew very well but, somewhere over the years, had stopped thinking about as much as I should. That balance allowed us to spend less time talking about camera settings and more time concentrating on where we were, what was happening around us, and where the next photograph might be. By the end of the six hours, I had experienced parts of Barcelona differently than I would have on my own and came away with many photographs that I am genuinely excited about. More importantly, I felt like I had started to get past the noise and find the Barcelona I had been struggling to see photographically. After three tours with Aperture Tours in three very different cities, I have continued to be impressed by the quality of their guides and the experiences they provide. My evening in Barcelona with Emily was no exception—in fact, it was one of those photographic experiences that reminded me how enjoyable it can be to simply walk through a city with a camera, stay open to what you find, and share that experience with another photographer. If you are visiting Barcelona and looking for a photography tour, I would absolutely recommend Aperture Tours. And if you have the opportunity, request Emily. I certainly would again.

Honestly one of the best experiences we have done.
Our professional photographer, Emily Kerr, was excellent. She was immediately able to set the right pace based on our experience. Emily used kind questions to ascertain what knowledge we had and then worked with us to enable the brilliant results….. Images of Barcelona we would never have known where to look for or to see. Overall, I would highly rate this experience to anyone keen on photography and eager to improve…. Emily has made this short break away a real memory. Thank you.
Response from the operator: Pleased the pace and approach suited you so well, and delighted you discovered new sides of Barcelona to capture. We’re glad the experience became such a memorable part of your trip.

Excellent tour and guide for photographing Barcelona!
If you’re a photographer of any skill level this is a great way to see various sights of the city and also capture some great perspectives too! Ian was fantastic and aligned the tour with the style of photography I wanted and also shared great insights to the city. This was a highlight of my four day trip to Barcelona! The pictures below are from my phone and not my DSLR
Response from the operator: So pleased this was a highlight of your Barcelona trip! We love tailoring the experience to each photographer’s style—glad you captured some great shots along the way.

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.
How much does Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.
Is Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Barcelona Photography Masterclass - Private Photography Lesson start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Barcelona?
+
Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Barcelona?
+
May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Barcelona?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
