About this experience

In Barcelona, locals eat late, and many of the best restaurants don’t begin dinner service until 8:30 or 9:00 PM. We created this experience so you don’t have to choose between eating early and eating well. Start in El Born with a fun introduction to Catalan food culture: learn how to prepare traditional "pa amb tomaquet" and try drinking from a "porron". Then enjoy two relaxed sit-down dining experiences at carefully selected restaurants popular with locals, where we’ve arranged an earlier service especially for our guests. Between tastings, explore El Born’s medieval streets, discover Santa Maria del Mar and visit a traditional gourmet store. Finish with Jon Cake’s famous cheesecake. Want to add art to your evening? Select the Picasso Museum option when booking and begin with a guided visit before continuing on foot through El Born.

Wonderful experience!

Alex was a wonderful guide and made the whole evening feel very personal. We learned a lot about Barcelona while enjoying some fantastic food and wine. The black rice was probably my favorite dish of the night.

Best experience!

Camillo had a good way of explaining things without making it feel like a tour. It felt more like walking around with someone who knows the area really well and wants to show you his favourite spots.

Delicious and memorable

While in Barcelona I wanted to go on a Tapas tour. The market is saturated with these outings but I found my choice with this route and company to be exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated the quick history lesson that immerses you more into the culture. The locations were intimate and made for a great discovery of Barcelona’s Born district. You are given exclusive access to distinctly neighborhood spots where you feel like a local. You can even carrying on with other participants to enjoy more places on your own. I can’t say enough good things about my experience but I think for any one shopping these tours should stop here!

Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso cost?

+

Prices start at $91 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Barcelona El Born Gourmet Tapas & Wine Tour & Optional Picasso start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
