Explore Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies on a guided winter day tour from Calgary or Banff, offered on Viator in January and February. Spend approximately two hours at Lake Louise Ski Resort, where you can enjoy the snowy mountain scenery or add skiing, snow tubing, a sightseeing gondola ride or a private lesson at extra cost. The itinerary also plans a visit to Abraham Lake for a chance to photograph its methane bubbles frozen beneath the ice. The lake visit and bubble visibility depend on weather, road and ice conditions and cannot be guaranteed. An optional helicopter flight offers another view of the Rockies for an additional fee. If Lake Louise Ski Resort is closed, a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway with stops at Bow Lake and Peyto Lake replaces the resort stop.

Ski resorts don't have tourist-friendly daisies to say you're going to the top on a gondola, they're places where skiers get off the lift and start skiing (just up the ski area), so you can't get in their way and slow down normally. And Lake Abraham was like, you know, you're doing a great job of publicity photography. In the end, it was only these two places and it was this price, so it was subtle.
Response from the operator: Hello Valued Customer, Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize that your January tour did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the experience at the ski resort gondola. We understand your disappointment with the gondola area being primarily for skiers. For clarity, the Lake Louise Sightseeing Gondola is an optional activity that requires an additional fee, as outlined in our booking details. We apologize if this was not clearly understood or missed during your booking process. We will be reviewing our tour details to ensure this aspect is clearly communicated for future guests. We also note your feedback regarding Abraham Lake. Sometimes, due to weather conditions, the bubble phenomenon may present a different impression which is not totally the same as our promotional photos. However, we strive to manage expectations and will take this into consideration for future tour information. Finally, we understand your perspective on the value for money given the two locations visited. We continuously review our tour itineraries and pricing, and your feedback is valuable in this process. We hope you might consider joining us on another tour in the future that better aligns with your interests.
