Cooking in tranquil gardens in Ubud
This cooking class is set in a rural village in beautiful tranquil Ubud, at the family property. It’s very peaceful and outdoors amongst the gardens. Please allow a half day if you’re including the market tour as you also cook five dishes. Aldo the driver was prompt and Putri the chef showed us around the market and also demonstrated the cooking class. Putri is very friendly and lovely and is patient with us. Agung did the ingredients preparation and the cleaning up. We really enjoyed ourselves and I would thoroughly recommend this class to anyone wanting the rural peaceful experience.
Response from the operator: Hi Megan <3! Thank you for your wonderful review and for recommending our Balinese Cooking Class. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the village and had such a memorable experience learning to cook traditional Balinese dishes. We're especially pleased to know that Aldo, Putri, and Agung helped make your day so enjoyable. Your kind words about Putri's friendly guidance, Aldo's punctuality, and Agung's support with the preparations and cleanup will certainly mean a lot to them. Thank you once again for choosing us. We look forward to welcoming you back for another authentic Bali experience in the future.

The best cooking class in tranquil Ubud
Aldo our driver was on time at our hotel pick up. He gave us an amazing commentary on the way to the market. He introduced us to Chef Putri who showed us around the market where all the ingredients are sourced. Aldo then drove us to the home of the cooking class. Putri was an amazing chef and explained everything to us as we made 5 delicious dishes from scratch. We really enjoyed ourselves and Agung was there to prepare the ingredients and clean up. The location was perfect in a rural setting in Ubud and peaceful and homely. We weren’t hurried or pressured to finish. The time to allow for this class is half day. We were collected at 7am and returned to our hot about 1pm allowing for traffic. I would thoroughly recommend this cooking class and would definitely do it again.
Response from the operator: Dear Valued Guest!, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience and for recommending our Balinese Cooking Class. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful rural setting in Ubud and had such a memorable time learning to prepare five delicious Balinese dishes. We're especially pleased to know that Aldo, Putri, and Agung each contributed to making your experience so enjoyable. Your kind words about Aldo's punctuality and local insights, Putri's wonderful cooking guidance, and Agung's support with the preparation and cleanup will mean a great deal to them. It's lovely to hear that you appreciated the relaxed and homely atmosphere of the class. We truly appreciate your recommendation and would be delighted to welcome you back for another cooking experience in Bali!

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $43 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 87 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour?
+
Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Market Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
