Great experience
Lovely experience. From communication, to pick up to the actual activity. I was the only participant and it was great having a private class. Food was great and wine was very reasonable. The property is beautiful and I would definitely return.

Excellent experience, a lot of fun.
We received a warm welcome when we arrived, professional intros to the Chef and all staff. Modern and exciting architecture. There were only two of us so we had a private cooking/assisted demonstration then it was served beautifully to us for lunch. Aprons and recipe booklet as souvenirs. Also excellent communication prior to the day. A great way to spend an afternoon in Bali. Thank you.🙏

Great chef and very delicious food.
The food ended up delicious even though we helped make it. The chef was very accommodating for gluten free and modified the recipes to suit. It was a really great experience and two hours was the perfect amount of time.

Our chef takes great pride in accommodating dietary needs, and we're glad the modifications suited you perfectly. It's fantastic to know that the two-hour session felt just right for you. Private cooking class Santai Bali
We did a private cooking class here and the experience was amazing. It was a private 1 on 1 class and done in one of the beautiful villas. You cook each course and then eat it at a lovely table they have set up. Chef Surya was super knowledgeable and very helpful. One of the best experiences. We liked the hotel so much we ended up booking it and extending our trip for a couple of days.
Response from the operator: Dear Ms. Chelseaflynn, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the private cooking class and that it left such a positive impression. Chef Surya will be delighted to know his knowledge and assistance made the class even more memorable for you. It’s truly heartwarming to know you appreciated the intimate villa setting and the effort we put into creating a special dining experience after each course. Your kind words about our property and decision to extend your stay mean the world to us—it’s the highest compliment we could receive! Should you ever wish to explore more activities or relax in the comfort of our villas again, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Yongky Setyawan - Operations Manager and The Santai Family.

Fabulous experience and so much fun!
This was a fabulous experience from start to finish. Collected from hotel and taken to a beautiful villa where the class took place - we were the only 2 in the class! Surya the chef, talked us through all the fresh ingredients and we prepared a beautiful 3 course meal together in an outdoor kitchen by a pool. We then sat down to eat the meal with a lovely bottle of wine (extra) in the beautiful private surroundings. There was also 2 assistants to the chef, Oka and a lady (sorry didn’t get her name) who were also so charming and helpful. Surya was fun and gave us lots of tips throughout the class. We were then driven back to our hotel. A great way to spend a couple of hours in Bali. Would definitely recommend and such good value for money as included your meal and transport. Thank you to the wonderful staff who made it so special.
Response from the operator: Dear Nicola, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so happy you enjoyed the entire experience, from the pick-up service to the beautiful villa setting. Chef Surya, along with Oka and the rest of the team, loved sharing tips and local ingredients with you. We’re delighted that you enjoyed your meal by the pool in such a private setting and felt it was great value. Thank you for recommending us—your kind words mean a lot, and we hope to welcome you back in Bali soon!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seminyak.
How much does Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seminyak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seminyak is not rushed.
Is Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seminyak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seminyak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seminyak and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Balinese Cooking Class at The Santai Umalas Kerobokan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seminyak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seminyak?
+
On Outty we rank every Seminyak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan, Bali Instagram Tour: The Most Scenic Spots, Ubud Hot Springs and Waterfall Private Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seminyak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seminyak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
