About this experience
Hello everyone we are Putu, Wayan, Nyoman and Kadek, We are very blessed to live in Taro village. Taro village not only rich with cultures and unique traditions, but still preserve the agricultural lands where we can find vast rice terraces & traditional house village. I am passionate about sharing our Hindu culture with visitors and showing them what makes the Balinese people unique. I believe in authentic experiences and this is what I love to deliver to guests who join me. I have worked in hotels, villas and as a guide across the Island for many years. My passion now lies in sharing my local village life with tourists on the Island. My guests will get to experience what life is like for the Balinese who live outside the tourist areas. You will explore my home, learn how to make Balinese offerings, eat local food and take part in a traditional cleans

Once in a lifetime experience!
Family was very inviting. Authentic experience. Lovely. My 10 year old son and family really enjoyed. I would highly recommend. We enjoyed learning about the small village and walking down to the beautiful river. The cooking class was delicious and fun as well. Family was very kind and patient.
Response from the operator: Hello Nina, Thank you so much to be part of my family, we are doing making offering together, doing ceremony together and you're also booking our cooking clast last minutes and doing it well, it's the best experience we're have been doing together in our life, hopefully we can meet again in the future. Thank you & best regards, Kadek & Family

Traditional Taro village experience
A truly amazing one of a kind experience full of culture. The tour guide and his wife welcomed us with open arms along with the rest of the village who we crossed paths with. During the experience we were taught how to make two different style offerings, one of which we then used that day and the second which helped them for the coming day to make their offerings. Whilst going from leaves and flowers to an offering, we were taught the meanings behind the whole process and the positioning of each flower/ offering, the balancing of good and bad. We were given a choice of tea or coffee and given traditional rice snacks during this time, and dressing in sarongs ahead of the water blessing. We then walked down to the temple where we were able to give our offerings and take part in the water blessing, taking part it the 5 prayers prior to the water blessing itself. During the water blessing we were given two options; submerge in the holy water or receive splashes of the holy water from the tour guide. Honestly a truly immersive experience and my favourite part of experiencing Bali so far. Seeing the traditional working methods and the genuine day to day life of Balinese people. Highly recommend this experience with Ubud Activities

Exceptional Taro Traditional village experiance
The Bali traditional village experience exceeded expectation! The experience gave a real taster into the Balinese culture! Our tour guide was friendly and gave so much insight and knowledge on the culture of Bali. The tour guide and his wife welcomed us into his home and gave us a lesson on making an offering whilst explaining what the offering means and why they do it! The tour then followed by going down to the temple to place our handmade offerings and undertake a water blessing in the holy water down at the river where you have to options one of which you can do the ritual yourself by submerging yourself in holy water or the guide can splash you with the holy water! Overall if you would like an insight to traditional Balinese culture then this experience cannot be missed

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bali Traditional Village Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Bali Traditional Village Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bali Traditional Village Experience take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Bali Traditional Village Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bali Traditional Village Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bali Traditional Village Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bali Traditional Village Experience?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bali Traditional Village Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
