A fantastic tour with Raj as our great English speaking driver and guide who picked us up promptly. Lake Tamblingan is located at altitudes of nearly 4000 feet. It is the heart of Bali farming area, with coffee plantations, vegetable fields and traditional rice paddies covering the nearby slopes. Lake Tamblingan is important in the religious life of villagers who earn their livelihoods by fishing, farming and ferrying tourists and the devout by dugout canoe to the 31 temples located near the lake. Temples are not like our churches with a preacher by an altar and seating for the congregation. Bali temples are small inside with no seating, only an altar to place your flowers or food for the idols, The smooth reflective surface of the lake surrounding most of the temple’s base creates a unique floating impression. The misty Bedugul mountain range surrounding the lake complements the temple's scenic backdrop. Exotic Jatiluwih Rice Terrace pretty much covers the region of the namesake upland village in West Bali. Taman Ayun is a royal family temple of the Mengwi Empire built in 17th century. it is one of Bali's six royal temples, which is what makes it a national treasure and tourist hotspot. The temple is located on a square section of land surrounded by a lake, appearing as if it's floating on the water. The complex is made up of beautiful pagodas and traditional architecture, and gardens with lotus ponds and fountains. The tiered areas of the temple represent the three layers of cosmos in Balinese Hinduism; heaven, or 'suarga', the world of man, 'buwah', and hell, 'bhur'. Tanah Lot Temple is an ancient Hindu shrine perched on top of an outcrop amidst constantly crashing waves. We took photos from on top rather than walk way down across the sand and wait over a half hour to see inside because of the long line of people waiting to enter. The onshore site has smaller shrines alongside leisure facilities of restaurants and shops. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Raj.

Great way to see Bali.
This is a great way to see the highlights of Bali. We had the flexibility to adjust our itinerary and focus on what we wanted. Our tour guide took us directly to the best spots for fotos. We decided to skip the hot springs, which gave us a little extra time in the Twin Lakes area. Overall a good experience and well recommended.

Bali tour in August ...
A long day in the (very comfortable) car, but worth it to see more of the island and some of the culture. Highlight for me was the Tanah Lot - just amazing! Nengah showed us around and was very responsive and professional.
