Comfortable but cramped

Crew were great and journey a bit bumpy but seats comfortable but very cramped. I’m over 6ft and it’s impossible to get comfortable with the seat in front of you so close. Journey back from Lombok to Balinhad a very strong smell of petrol!!

Great operator

Great experience and very smooth sailing. Great communication and organisation. Even had beers on hand! Distribution of small waters, good and clear explanations. Recommended, worth spending the extra dollars.

Not premium at all

The boat’s interior reeks of gasoline, while the exterior offers only a few seats. This combination makes it an unrecommended choice. I tried Ekajaya and recommend it much more.

Good quality & reliable

Was very impressed with Bluewater Express, there is a lot of choice for the Bali to Gili/Lombok crossing - Bluewater are one of the most expensive. I'm genuinley glad we paid extra and went with them, they we're extremely well organised with proper checkin facilities and bag drop off so that we had time to explore around the ports before boarding. Luggage was handled with care and most importantly is stored inside in a proper hold area. Many of the cheaper companies lob them on the top of the boat, exposing them to the elements. The staff are friendly, boat was comfortable - we had a calm sea. They offer free sea sickness tablets - we'd advise taking them as even on calm days it does rock the boat a fair bit. There is a small outside area at the back for fresh air. Complimentary water and mints were also provided. We booked transfers with Bluewater to and from our hotels in Bali - more expensive than grab/private but the experience was seamless and they guarantee you won't be late (or will put you onto another boat if you are). Arriving back into Bali is quite overwhelming where you get mobbed by local taxi drivers and Grab isn't allowed in the port - therefore booking our transfers direct with Bluewater allowed for a stress free experience, I'd really recommend doing this as the local port drivers are quite aggressive. Service ran to time. We actually left 20 minutes early on the way back so I'd advise getting to the port 1 hour before departure (they advise this anyway). Only "even better if" is the boat is on the smaller side, so I can imagine for rough crossings it could be somewhat unpleasant. Another company (ekajaya i think) are reputable and have much larger boats - better for rough crossings. However they are so large they can't actually dock at Gili Air/Meno so they anchor off the coast then you get a small shuttle across. Bluewater boats are small enough that they dock directly so is a much smoother end to end experience. Journey goes quick too.

Best fastboat in Bali!

After being unsure of who to book with for fast boat due to many negative reviews and first time in Bali, I opted for blue water express for our trip from Padang Bai to Gili Air and Im so pleased we did! It was by far the best journey we had on the water, avoided the busy loading bay queues, sitting at their own café spot in the port until time to board, all costs included in the ticket and tax ticket which other companies do not tell you about. We felt looked after throughout the whole process. Boat was really comfortable with screens, water and mints provided. Bigger & more comfortable seats compared to other boats with excellent AC on at all times. After experiencing an awful boat journey yesterday to Sanur my only plead is that blue water express offer more journeys as I could not book with them for this one 😆😆

Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuta.

How much does Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal) cost?

+

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal) take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuta is not rushed.

Is Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kuta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal)?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal) suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal)?

+

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuta and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bali (Padang Bai) to Gili Trawangan - Gili Air - Lombok (Bangsal) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuta?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include East Bali Tour: Gate of Heaven, Water Palace, Sleeping Gajah, Ubud Day Tour: Sacred Monkey Forest, Tegenungan Waterfall, Rice Terrace, Bali 5 Days and 4 Nights Private Tour - Best and Famous Site. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuta?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuta?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
