    Cut corners, low value

As others have mentioned there was an awkward moment at the end of the tour when all guests were asked to leave a five star rating as we had tea. The company should invest their time in caring for their employees and paying them properly from the jump instead of pushing them to do this to guests for performance (?) based pay. This was not a five star tour. It was an average tour. Not good and not bad and covered the main sights in Ninh Binh with below average food for Vietnam. The tour cut corners by putting my boyfriend and I in the same boat with a solo traveler to save a few dollars. All other couples were alone and we were not asked if we were okay with that before the tickets were bought and were told as we were shuffled into the boat. We traveled far and wanted a private moment together. The guide was fine otherwise but this is what happens when you don't pay people enough. They cut corners for cash.

Response from the operator: Dear Ms. Lauren, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your recent tour with us. We appreciate both your positive and constructive feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we need to improve. We sincerely regret that certain aspects of your experience fell short of your expectations. Your comments regarding the boat arrangement are completely valid, and we apologize for not consulting you beforehand about sharing the boat. We understand how important it is to provide guests with moments of privacy and comfort, especially during such a special experience, and we will take steps to ensure better communication in the future. Regarding the request for reviews, we acknowledge that this may have created an awkward moment during your tour. While guest feedback is vital for improving our services, we will reassess how we approach this process to ensure it feels genuine and respectful, without any sense of pressure. We are also sorry to hear that the food did not meet the high standards you were expecting from Vietnam and that the overall experience felt average. We strive to provide memorable, high-quality tours, and we take your concerns about value and employee conditions seriously. Your feedback will be shared with our team as we work to address these issues and make necessary adjustments. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We hope you will consider giving us another chance to provide you with a better and more enjoyable experience in the future. Best regards, Aloha Vietnam Travel & Guide Team WhatsApp: +84 986803579

Excellent day trip to Ninh Binh

Our trip to Ninh Binh was incredible! Our guide Peter was excellent. He was engaging and thoughtful and was able to manage our group on a timeline all while keeping it fun. Trang An was beautiful, as was the hike at Mua Cave. The temple was impressive. We would recommend this trip to everyone!

Response from the operator: Dear Ms Megan, Thank you so much for the kind words and amazing review. It means a lot to us. We are pleased that you were enjoying the trip and activities with our team. We will strive to provide superior service to all of our clients to keep up with your trust. Hope to see you again soon. Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 37 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bai Dinh- Mua Cave and Trang An boat trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
