One of the highlights of our South Island vacation!
If you are looking for an exceptional, personalized experience around Queenstown, look no further than Authentic As. We originally chose Authentic As because our family of five wanted a private, flexible tour, and Simon exceeded every possible expectation. He crafted a bespoke day for us, taking us from the historic charm of Arrowtown all the way out past Glenorchy to the filming location for Isengard in The Lord of the Rings. Throughout the journey, Simon was an outstanding guide. His depth of knowledge brought the landscape to life. He shared fascinating insights into the region’s complex geology, rich local history, and meaningful stories about Māori culture and beliefs that resonated with all of us. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the photography. We have professional family photos taken every five years, and the photos Simon took of us along the way are hands-down the best we’ve ever had. He captured natural, beautifully framed moments in jaw-dropping locations that we will cherish forever. Having a private guide who is not only a fantastic storyteller but also a world-class photographer made this day entirely seamless and unforgettable. We couldn't recommend Simon and Authentic As more highly!

Unforgettable Queenstown Adventure – A Perfect Blend of Scenery, Photography & Hospitality!
Our photography tour with Authenticas was an experience of a lifetime! Simon’s expertise, passion, and deep local knowledge made every moment special, taking us to breathtaking locations we would have never found on our own. His photography tips and storytelling added an extra layer of magic to the journey. To top it all off, Emma’s beautifully arranged picnic was simply outstanding—fresh, delicious, and set in a stunning spot. This tour is an absolute must for anyone looking to capture the true essence of Queenstown in the most exclusive and immersive way. Highly recommended!

Unique Experience
This was by far the best experience in Queenstown! Hand on heart can say this experience is a must do in NZ if you are into star gazing and enjoy photography. AuthenticAs truly go above and beyond to curate something specially for you. We witnessed magic during our star gazing tour and the photoshoot was by far the best. It never felt that we met them for the first time as they instantly put us to ease for the photoshoot and the stories about our solar system was truly beautiful and unique. I would recommend them to everyone in a heartbeat. Thank you Emma & Simon for giving us memories that we will cherish forever. Your passion and skills made it possible to give my partner the ultimate surprise. We are truly grateful to you!
Response from the operator: Twas magical - I think we prepped together well when you explained what you were hoping for, we want to be a bespoke company and love of what we do with a passion. But you two rockstars make that easy. ✨✨

Lovely friends
we were suddenly changed our plan and look for some photography trip...found out that TOP & Back this package really worth to do. Simon & Emma will spot you out the unforgettable photo shooting point and do a tour along the trip with 6 hours, at the middle a picnic lunch was provided which was very good taste. Last but not least, if you really have spare time with perfect weather, definitely suggest to join this tour as Simon & Emma will try their best to show as much as wonderful view they can with professional knowledge.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Hannes. We absolutely loved showing you around our beautiful backyard. I am so glad that we managed to work around the weather and find not only some amazing photographs, but also so you could experience snow falling and feeding horses. We really hope to see you again when you venture back to this beautiful place. Once again, thank you so much for choosing us and being part of such an amazing adventure Emma & Simon

AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Queenstown.
How much does AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $2499 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Queenstown usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Queenstown is not rushed.
Is AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Queenstown, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Queenstown can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Queenstown and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does AuthenticAs Paradise - Professional Photography & Exclusive Guided 4WD Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Queenstown within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Queenstown?
+
On Outty we rank every Queenstown experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Milford Sound Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Milford Sound Premium Small Group Tour & Cruise from Queenstown, Award Winning Premium Wine Tour Queenstown Tasting at 4 Wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Queenstown?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Queenstown?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
