Agency with a terrible level of service and terrible level of quality in most of the hotels offered in its program, desp

In view of our unfortunate experience, terrible service and scam with the level of the contracted hotels, my recommendation is NOT to work with this agency in any case to organize a trip to Uzbekistan. We contacted the Central Asia Travel agency in February 2026, to request a proposal for a 10-day private trip (4 pax) to Uzbekistan on August 26. Their response was very fast and professional in less than 48 hours, with a detailed trip program, which included the option of hiring it with or without hotels, and we made the serious mistake of hiring their services with a hotel included, but at level 1, of supposedly higher quality and cost, trusting in their criteria and selection. Our first problems began the day before the trip, when I asked our contact if we would see each other on the day of our arrival at the hotel to get to know each other and receive all the documentation and plane and train tickets, hotel vouchers, etc., and pay them the 75% due, and he answered that we will not see each other, that he sends me the tickets and the trip program at that time so that I can print them, and that the next day only one guy will go to collect the pending payment. The trip proposal involved the following hotel options: See attached picture. Our expectations with the Level 1 hotels, with a theoretical budget of €105 per double room per night, were only met in the first hotel in Tashkent (Lotte City Hotel Tashkent) cost of 105€ per night in booking, together with Hotel Grand Samarkand Superior A (€65 per night on Booking.com). But in the following three cities the level and quality of the hotels assigned for a Level 1, was a truly regrettable deception and scam. In NUKUS, the proposal included a Jipik Joly Hotel for the 3 levels, which has 3 hotels of different levels in the city. Our unpleasant surprise was upon arriving at the Jipik Joly INN hotel, and discovering its deplorable state and standard of hotel, being the worst of the three Jipik Joly hotels in the city, with a cost per night of €30 in booking. When we complained to the agency and requested an immediate change to the higher level hotel Jpek Joly ART (45€ per night in booking) or alternatively to the Ramada hotel, outside the agency's list, cost of €50 per night in booking, where we changed, but the agency told us that we had to assume the cost. In Jhiva the proposal included 3 hotels interchangeably for the 3 levels, which is already surprising, and curiously they once again assigned us the worst hotel of the three: Zukhro Boutique Hotel, with a cost of 50€per double room per night in booking, despite the fact that there were other hotels in the city more in line with the quality expected for Option 1 and with rooms available. The hotel is marketed as a "boutique," but this concept is completely outdated and its use is popular in hotels throughout the country, bearing no resemblance to what it means in Spain. In reality, it's a "hostel", located in an old building within the walls of the historic city, with lots of wood, kilims, curtains, and typical decor, but everything is very old and run-down. The first impression upon arrival was disappointing, but the worst and most unpleasant surprise came when we entered the room and found old, worn towels in the bathroom, and especially when we opened the bed linens and found clothes that hadn't been washed or changed, with large stains of dirt, hairs... a real disgrace. We decided not to stay at the hotel under any circumstances, and within 5 minutes we found another hotel very close by using Booking.com—modern, clean, and spacious—for only 50 Euros a night. After sending a complaint message to the agency about the hotel, we did not get any response, apology or alternative, but, the agency used our email—without our authorization and without informing us—to resend it to the hotel and tell them that you would NOT pay for the rooms because our complaint. The agency did not tell us that they had done this, and, to further confirm their poor handling of this situation, even after doing this, they never informed us that they were willing to assume the cost of the new hotel, despite knowing that they had informed the original hotel that you would not pay them. In the case of Bukhara, we had been assigned what was considered a Level 1 hotel: KOMIL BuKhara Boutique Hotel, with a Booking cost of 60€ per night in a double room. In view of our unfortunate experiences with the two previous hotels, without the agency having done anything to change them, before arriving to the city and after we have seen the online reviews, I sent the agency the following message regarding the hotel: Komil Bukhrara It's not the type of hotel I would have booked on my own; Its decor style is very traditional and overpriced. But the problem will be if it's an old, unrenovated hotel with worn and dilapidated furniture and bathrooms. If you could change our hotel, I preferred still with rooms available in booking: - Turkman Madrasah 19th century hotel - Hotel Sarhad Bukhara If you change us to one of them, it will be perfect. This hotels had a 60€ cost per night in booking. Unfortunately, the agency simply did not respond to our messages or complaints about the hotels, and in the end they limited themselves to justifying that we already knew which hotels were in the program, that they could not do anything to change them because they had already been paid for, which we know was not true for the hotel in Jhiva, or that they could not find alternative hotels, because it was high season and they did not have time, which was not true either, because in 5 minutes we booked two alternative hotels of correct quality and cost only 50 per night and double room with Booking in Jhiva and Bujara. In addition to this terrible service, in the city of Jhiva, which corresponded to us according to the program, a guide in Spanish, we met a guide who only spoke English, without prior notice and without giving any subsequent justification or apology, when we were able to verify that there were many Spanish-speaking guides who were visiting at the same time as us with other groups. In summary, an due to our very bad experience, my recommendation is NOT to work with this agency in any case to organize a trip to Uzbekistan.
