Amash experience
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Amish experience. Our host served us a wonderful meal and was most kind and courteous. We would highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I loved it!!
My wife and I had a wonderful time. We got super lucky and we were the only ones on the tour and lunch. They said they run the tour regardless so that is good to know. We had a nice informative tour of the Amish countryside and learned many fascinating things about the Amish way of life. The lunch was delicious and the host mother was very genuine and happy to answer questions. The Amish adherence to horse drawn buggies is some serious devotion. Maintaining multiple horses and all the space, maintenance and food that it requires boggles my mind.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you and your wife had such a wonderful time and were able to enjoy such a personal tour and lunch experience. There truly is so much to learn about the Amish way of life, and getting to experience the countryside and sit down for a meal with one of our host families makes it even more special. We appreciate you joining us and hope you’ll come back and explore more of Lancaster County with us someday!

Amazing
The whole experience was amazing—very informative and interesting. The place we visited for the tour and lunch was wonderful; the host was so sweet, and the food was amazing. Dale, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and a captivating storyteller. He made the entire experience even more enjoyable and memorable.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the entire experience, from learning about the local culture to sharing a delicious meal with your Amish host. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to Dale—his knowledge and storytelling truly bring Lancaster County to life! Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another loKal Experience in the future!

Excellent Experience Highly Recommend
Sandy is an excellent guide to Ammish culure and bridging between mainstream USA culture and the Ammish culture. The Sara family was very kind and the food delicious. Normally I don't like this type of activity but I learned very much and the experience was well organized and conducted. My only gripe is that downtown pickup/ dropoff should be possible.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that Sandy made such a great impression and helped provide a meaningful understanding of Amish culture and its differences from mainstream American life. We’re also so glad you enjoyed your time with Sarah’s family and the delicious home-cooked meal! It means a lot to hear that, even though this isn’t normally the type of activity you would choose, you found the experience interesting, educational, and well organized. We also truly appreciate your feedback regarding a downtown pickup and drop-off option. Guest suggestions like yours are incredibly valuable as we continue looking for ways to improve the experience. Thank you for joining us during your visit to Lancaster County!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish!: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lancaster.
How much does Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish! cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lancaster usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish! take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lancaster is not rushed.
Is Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish! worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 460 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lancaster, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish!?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish! suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish!?
+
Around 161 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lancaster can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lancaster and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Authentic Tour & Meal with the Amish! start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lancaster within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lancaster?
+
Lancaster, PA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Lancaster by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Lancaster experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Amish Country Tour including Amish Farm and House, Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour, Unique Amish Immersion in Lancaster. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lancaster?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Lancaster, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lancaster?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
