One of the highlights of our trip!
Spending the morning with Yoomin and learning how to play the Gayageum in a hanbok was such a delight. This was one of the highlights of our trip. She made the experience very easy and fun - and took lots of pictures and videos for us. I highly recommend this experience if you want to immerse yourself in the culture while visiting Korea. I would definitely return to learn more with her next time. We had such a wonderful time and you get to hear Yoomin play the instrument - it’s so beautiful! Thank you 🫰💕

My most memorable experience, it truly touched my soul in Seoul!
This may be my favorite thing I’ve done in Seoul! What a delightful way to spend an afternoon having a Gayageum lesson with the premiere teacher-artist, Yoomin. Her teaching space was beautiful and peaceful with a stunning view of the neighborhood. She has a collection of hanboks as well as a collection of instruments. I loved learning about the history and her demonstrations of her masterful playing. As a teacher she is so patient, kind, and encouraging, but also appropriately strict when needed. This class was not “dumbed down”; it was a true first lesson. Her years of experience helped me feel both appropriately challenged and successful by the end. I imagine all her students feel this way. As a musician myself, I enjoyed both her playing and the mental challenges of reading the music while using the new techniques. Everything was color coded and numbered, so reading music wasn’t required to be successful, but I couldn’t help but read what was on the pages before me. I played two songs, the traditional “Arirang” (the only Korean song I know - gotta work on that!) and “Amazing Grace.” I noticed Yoomin had K-Pop Demon Hunter and BTS tunes in the booklet, too. That would definitely appeal to younger students! Yoomin made sure I had tons of photos and videos. She wrote my name in Korean on my certificate and then on a keepsake paper fan where she also wrote the name of her company, “Beautiful Gayageum”on it. I was sad to leave her serene space and her pleasant company. It was a wonderful experience! ♥️🇰🇷🎶
Response from the operator: Hi Kate, I was deeply moved by your sincere and thoughtful review. I am so incredibly happy that I could be a part of your beautiful journey in Korea and create such a wonderful memory together. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing performance videos with me as well. Every moment we spent together is deeply cherished in my heart. Thank you for everything. 😊

The best and unique traditional Korean culture experience
This is by far the best traditional Korean culture experience I can recommend to anyone - foreigners visiting Korea and even Koreans living in Korea! Teacher Yoomin has decades of experience teaching gayageum and so she has a seamless program to learn quickly so that anyone can learn how to play Arirang in just an hour! She also provides hanboks to wear during the lesson and there is a photoshoot opportunity in a beautifully decorated dedicated space. And the view from the window is absolutely breathtaking as it has a stunning angle of the traditional Korean Bukchon village rooftops. I was able to schedule a private lesson for my mom and I and it really was the perfect experience to have in the afternoon inside a cool studio away from the smoldering Korean summer heat and humidity. This is definitely an experience worth every penny!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a beautiful and heartfelt review! It was an absolute honor to meet you and your mother. I’m incredibly happy to hear that you both enjoyed the music, the hanbok, and the Bukchon view inside our cool studio. Your kind words mean the world to me and motivate me to keep sharing the beauty of Gayageum. I hope to see you both again someday! Always take care! ❤️

A Truly Unique Cultural Experience!
I highly recommend this Gayageum-making class! It was such a unique and memorable experience to build a traditional Korean instrument with my own hands. The instructor explained each step clearly and made the process enjoyable, even for beginners. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Korean culture and craftsmanship. This is a must-try experience if you’re visiting Korea!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review! I am incredibly grateful that you found the Gayageum so enjoyable and even booked the short-term intensive course. Hearing you say how much you loved every moment truly warmed my heart. More than anything, I want to say a special thank you for recognizing, understanding, and appreciating all the values and intentions I poured into creating 'Beautiful Gayageum.' It meant the world to me that you connected so deeply with what we do. It made me so happy to see your genuine love for the Gayageum and to share these unforgettable, precious moments with you. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for choosing Beautiful Gayageum, and I hope these beautiful memories stay with you for a lifetime! ❤️

Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seoul.
How much does Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul cost?
+
Prices start at $120952 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seoul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seoul is not rushed.
Is Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seoul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seoul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seoul and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Authentic Korea Gayageum Experience in Hanbok- Bukchon Seoul start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seoul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seoul?
+
On Outty we rank every Seoul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include DMZ Tour: Defector Q&A, Tunnel & Suspension Bridge /Hotel pick up, Best DMZ Tour Seoul: Defector Q&A, 3rd Tunnel & Suspension Bridge, 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best: DMZ Tour from Seoul. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seoul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seoul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
