Fantastic Indian Cookery Class
We booked an Indian cooking experience with "Gourmet Desire" 10 years ago which we attended in August 2016. Jyoti (our tutor) was fantastic, her knowledge of traditional Indian food is immense, she is a lovely lady, very patient, polite, funny and the best host of all time. We spent a whole day with her at her home cooking some wonderful dishes then later in the day she took us to a local spice market and to a local restaurant and street food vendors to sample more Indian cuisine, meet the locals, learn how to barracks for a good bargain and to compare our cooking efforts with the professionals. It was an absolutely fantastic experience and we hope one day to do it all again. We returned to England armed with happy memories & a collection of recipes for us to refer back on at home. Recently we had a small flood and our recipes all got damaged but after an email to Jyoti she quickly sent us copies of the recipes in PDF format so we could print them off again. This lady is amazing and we fully recommend anybody visiting Delhi books onto one of her courses. Her food is amazing!

Learn to prepare authentic Indian dishes
We met Jyoti at the INA market where she showed us around various stalls including her favourite grocery and spice store, where she explained the ingredients used for which dishes and homeopathy. After that we took a short ride back to her charming home where we enjoyed her hospitality and chose the dishes we selected to cook from the recipes she gave us (which we were able to take home). We chose Butter Chicken, Aubergine Bharta and a Paneer dish, together with Tikkis, a type of street food we had seen at the market where we had first met Jyoti. Jyoti encouraged us to get hands on, particularly with the Tikkis. They were so good we ate far too many and were unable to eat much of our other dishes, despite being delicious! Our tip would be to have just one maybe! On leaving, after the meal we were presented with a little package of some herbs and spices which we are sure to use back at home together with Jyoti’s recipes. A really enjoyable & informative evening. Highly recommended!

An outstanding evening learning to cook authentic dishes
An outstanding evening with Joyti. Such pleasant company and perfect teaching. We have learnt so much and won’t hesitate to recommend this event. In fact you are missing out if you don’t do it. We will be using the recipes the day after we return home.

Delicious, Delightful, I’d Do It Again
Jyoti’s class included education about Indian cuisine and a delicious meal which we helped prepare. She was able to accommodate our multiple food sensitivities. Jyoti entertained us in her home, and her friendliness and ease with foreigners made us feel right at home. I would do it again!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.
How much does Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi cost?
+
Prices start at $4490 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.
Is Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Authentic Indian Cooking Class with Jyoti in Delhi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Delhi?
+
On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
