What you get
About this experience
Auschwitz is a symbol of terror, genocide and the Holocaust. It was established by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of the city of Oswiecim which, like other parts of Poland, was occupied by the Germans during the Second World War. Then, the city name was changed into Auschwitz which became the name of the camp as well. The visitors have a possibility to imagine the gruesome and appalling conditions of the prisoners and see the remains of the camp.

Sophisticated Scan
We travelled specifically to Krakow to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau and our trip ended as a disaster and resulted in a loss of $890 CAD. We were short changed the night prior to our trip and the only recourse we had was to accept an alternative trip with a 20% refund. This trip did happen, meaning we were picked up and dropped back to the hotel. The rest was a drive-by with little or nothing to see as the travel agent did not honour the sites we were supposed to visit in the alternative trip. Please stay away from Headup - they’re practically a sophisticated scam.
Response from the operator: Please cancel your review immediately you booked on platform Headout not in our company! Thank you.

Horrible
Terrible, they changed our scheduled pick up time from 9:30 to 5:45. The night before the trip. The information of that was poorly delivered and we missed our trip to Auschwitz Because of it. Customer service Said that they have us the information well in advance so that we could have canceled the trip. What a scam!
Response from the operator: Dear Sir or Madam, We kindly ask you to update your review and assign it to the correct company. Your booking was made with "Hello Cracow", not with our company. We would greatly appreciate it if you could correct this at your earliest convenience.

A Powerful and Unforgettable Visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau
The visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau was deeply emotional and educational. The convenience of a private transfer made the whole trip more comfortable, especially since it was very helpful to get a pickup directly from the hotel. The guide explained everything in detail and sensitively throughout the time, which made the importance of the past events more clear. The place itself makes for extremely quiet and thoughtful - an experience that can never be forgotten.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your moving words 🕊️ We’re honored to hear that the Auschwitz-Birkenau visit was both emotional and educational for you — it truly is a place that stays with you forever. Having a private transfer 🚐 and hotel pick-up 🏨 definitely helps make the experience smoother and more reflective, allowing you to focus on the historical significance rather than the logistics. We’re especially glad that your guide provided sensitive and detailed explanations 🎧, helping you understand the depth and importance of what happened there. As you rightly said, it’s a place for quiet reflection, and one that reminds us of the value of compassion, tolerance, and remembrance 🙏 Thank you once again for recommending us. If you ever find yourself back in Krakow, we would be thrilled to welcome you again. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly – we’d love to help make your next visit just as memorable! 🩷🤩 ✈️ 🌍 #Auschwitz #AuschwitzTours #KrakowAuschwitzTours #SmallGroupTour #Krakow +48 504 091 617 #WhatsApp #CustomerCare 📍🚌🎧🕯️🏞️

Very dissapointed
Absolute shambles from start to finish, was picked up at 2am arrived around 3am,, kicked of the bus with no information apart from stand there and wait untill opening, waited 4.5 hours in freezing cold, no seats, no toilets, no were to get a hot drink, when any driver/guide seen you walking towards them they turned away ,as they basically couldn't be bothered to speak to you or give you any info, once threw the gate we had pre booked an English guide tour, but was then told we had to wait another 4 hours untill 12.30pm for it, so we had to op for the Polish one as we had already been waiting 5 hours and didnt want to wait another 4,, so was pointless as could understand the guide,, every was rushed ,, everyone racing threw, pushing shoving, far to over crowded,,we missed so much, other guides from other group shoving you along, telling you to move on quickly, i was actually shouted at by one guide"hurry up move along the next group are coming threw" i replied, "i understand, but i haven't had chance to see it myself yet" and recived a very dirty look, and told to move along quicky as possible again. didnt get chance to read/see and take in half of the trip, was just chaotic and no organisation, all our group off the coach was split up and sent in at different times , so upon leaving was told we had to wait another 2.5+ hours for everyone else to finish, so had to pay for uber back as we was exhausted, the place it's self( what we managed to see) was deeply moving, just a shame our experience was so slap dash, and unorganised, unhelpful staff , from start to finish was 7+hours waiting for a 3 hour rushed tour with no info along the way , so very dissapointed
Response from the operator: Hello there! We just wanted to gently clarify that you actually booked with a different company, not with us. In our company, we always guarantee tickets and arrange pickups between 7:00 and 10:00 AM, so there’s never a problem with waiting in lines. We’re really sorry you had that kind of experience elsewhere. If you let us know the name of the company you booked with, we’ll be happy to help you identify them so you can sort things out. In the meantime, we kindly ask you to remove the review from our page, since it wasn’t actually related to our service. Thanks a bunch for understanding!

EMOTIONAL
Auschwitz and Birkenau tour booked, made our way via Krakow bus station to Auschwitz and was dropped right at the start. You can take food with you but just don’t consume it whilst on the tour. Our tour started at 0930 and our guide Patricia introduced herself, she got us set up with coms for her commentary. We started with a short film and then in through the entrance gate, The passion and emotion that was conveyed from Patricia was emotional to say the least. We had a small group of people and her care and attention to detail was thought provoking and a reminder of the history of the awful acts that humanity can inflict. There was a silence as Patricia guided us through Auschwitz. Informing us in detail of the horrific acts committed and how survivors had revisited the camp and how she had met people with their remarkable stories. After a short break for food and drinks we resumed our tour to Birkenau. There are ample toilets although not a lot of outside seating. We never used the food facilities provided. Birkenau is massive the amount of buildings used to house humans is thought provoking. Again l cannot praise Patricia enough for her professionalism and dedication and passion that she conveyed to our group . Check the weather before hand and wear suitable attire, this is a tour over undulating ground sturdy shoes recommended. Thoroughly recommend the 6 hour study guided tour for individuals. Take the bus from Krakow can be booked in advance. And stops right outside. Pick up was bang on time 3.30.

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.
How much does Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow cost?
+
Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.
Is Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 81 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with Private Transfers from Krakow start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krakow?
+
On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krakow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krakow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
