A Half-Day of fun and Excitement Coordinated by Viator and Altustours
Our day with Altustours, arranged by Viator, was far more memorable than we expected. The Altustours staff made every effort to ensure our safety and enjoyment on the zip-lines, the ATV riding, and our swim and diving at the Cenote. Our day started with a van picking up up from the lobby of our hotel. The driver was kind and helpful. The trip to the site was enjoyable and we felt totally safe. Once at the site, the local staff seemed determined to accommodate us in every way we wanted. The zip line part of our day was explained to us in detail and the staff carefully helped each of us into our harnesses. Once on the platforms, a staff member connected our harnesses to the lines and repeated the instructions given before we reached the platforms. As we reached the next platforms, a staff member helped us gain our footing on the platform, release our lines, and told us how to move toward the next platform. I never experienced even a moment of apprehension. The staff exercise the same care and concern for us when we boarded our ATVs. We were schooled in how to accelerate, brake and steer the vehicles. The staff ensured that we all wore well-fitting helmets and coached us in how to steer through both dry and wet terrain. My family had a great time. I recommend this adventure to anyone who wants to enjoy and thrilling day with a 1/2 hour drive from Cancun.
Response from the operator: We truly appreciate those kind words towards the staff and our company. It's great that you got to enjoy an authentic jungle experience It was a pleasure to take your family into this adventure! We look forward to take you into another adventure, there still plenty more to explore!

Not fun at all
Didn't like this excursion. It was my son's birthday. Once arrived, no smile from the guy. We look like a pack of herd for them (money making only). The guy basically EXPECTED us to pay for the locker, etc. They gave us a hard time for our PROMISED water bottle at the end. I had to show them a screenshot of it. The restaurant waiter EXPECTED tip when the service wasn't good. All in all, it was horrible. I had to sit behind the guy on the ATV ride. Of course I didn't buy my picture because he's in it. I bought my husband and son's picture on the ATV. It just felt like all they want was more money. They didn't make us feel welcome. I will never use this place again. First and last time!
Response from the operator: We are really sorry about your experience Ms. We will look into the situation with the tour guides, our kindest regards

Not a good experience
I paid for 3 adults (atv, zip line & cenote swim) because my 12 yr old son is considered an adult. When we got there, it was a long wait to check in. Then Alberto (not a friendly face) basically made us paid for insurance. We said no and he made a comment like YOU WANT TO PAY THOUSANDS IF YOU WRECK THE ATV. We ended up paying it. He said $10 for 2 ATVs. They didn’t even let me drive one. Then why did I pay for insurance then?!!! My son only did 1/6 zip lines because he didn’t feel safe. (No refund or accommodation for it.) Lunch time we didn’t even get our 3 bottle waters which was supposed to be included but we had to fight for it. Another group of girls from Miami had to argue for their bottles, too. Lunch was barely enough. The waiter wasn’t nice at the beginning until the end when he wanted tip. After the zip line, I asked where the cenote is and they said wait for your group?! I was annoyed and walked away. (My group was gone.) We were the last 3 out of my group. We didn’t even go to swim! After I ate, I asked to see pictures that they took and their computer with the next arrow didn’t even work so I couldn’t even look at my pictures. I had to rush and pick 4 so they email me. I tried to buy all of it as a package thinking it was $35 but he said there’s 3 people in my pictures so I had to pay more (wth?!). Of course there’s 3 people, my husband and son! They just want money and not make customers happy! I will not recommend this place to my friends! I paid $25 plus a stupid 16% credit card fee if no cash for 4 pictures to be emailed to me.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your comments , we already speak to the atv tour to ,make sure they improve every single experience , we hope that you enjoy the rest of the vacation , happy holoidays.

Fun tour.
Nice tour. However, my pictures were suppose to be emailed because the photographer could not upload them to my phone. Never received the photos. I have contacted them four times.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun cost?
+
Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does ATV's Shared, Ziplines & Cenote! Half-Day from Cancun start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
