Children friendly beyond the normal activity
We had an excellent experience on the Myths and Games tour with Michael. What really set this tour apart was having an actual qualified teacher, specialising in Greek language and history, leading the experience. His knowledge was outstanding, but even more impressive was his ability to make the stories engaging and accessible for both adults and children. The tour focused on the legends and history surrounding the 12 Labours of Heracles, and Michael brought these ancient tales to life through a combination of storytelling, discussion, and hands-on games. Rather than simply listening to information, the children were actively involved throughout, learning through play and taking part in activities linked to the myths. The cool, shaded surroundings made the experience particularly enjoyable, especially during the summer heat, and provided the perfect setting for the games and activities. Our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were still talking about the stories and challenges afterwards. This was a wonderful way to introduce children to Greek mythology and history in a fun, memorable, and educational way. We would highly recommend it to families looking for something that goes beyond a standard sightseeing tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted your family enjoyed discovering Greek mythology through storytelling, ancient games, and hands-on learning in the National Garden. Helping children connect with the ancient stories in a fun and meaningful way is exactly what we aim for. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back for more unique family activities in Athens!

Ancient Games, Heroic Tales, and One Very Happy 6-Year-Old
We did this in Athens with our 6-year-old and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Michael our activity guide was fantastic from the start. He built everything around the 12 Labours of Heracles, which could have felt like a history lesson, but instead felt like a story our son (which he already knew) was genuinely pulled into. He introduced ancient Greek games like knucklebones and hoop rolling in a way that was hands-on and playful, so our son was completely engaged the whole time. There was a lot of laughter, a bit of friendly competition, and just enough storytelling to keep things magical without losing a 6-year-old’s attention (which is no small feat). As adults, we appreciated it just as much. Michael has a really natural way of telling the myths and making them feel alive rather than something out of a textbook. At the end, he gave our son a small set of marbles and knucklebones to take home, which honestly made his day and was such a thoughtful touch. If you’re traveling with kids and want something that feels authentic, interactive, and actually enjoyable for everyone, this is a great choice.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review! We’re delighted this interactive family experience became a highlight of your time in Athens. Blending Greek mythology with ancient games is exactly what we aim for—hands-on, engaging, and fun for both kids and adults. It’s wonderful to hear your child connected with the story of Heracles while staying fully entertained, and that you also enjoyed the storytelling approach. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words to Michael. We hope to welcome your family back for more memorable, educational adventures in Athens!

Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens with Kids: Myths & Family Games in the National Garden start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
