Delphi and Hosios Loukas must see with Dimitris!

Delphi and Hosios Loukas were magical. Both are definite musts on your what to see list! Hosios Loukas is an incredible monastery with mind boggling views while the buildings, art and history inside were awe inspiring. Delphi was other worldly. The landscape it was built upon is transcendent. The structures, temples and history are one of a kind to experience. Dimitris made all of this possible! The ride was so beautiful and comfortable, thanks to him. He planned perfect spots to stop and stretch your legs, thoroughly entertained us with great conversations and knowledge. I honestly think this is the absolute best way to visit these beautiful sites. He made it so wonderful!

Memorable guide and tour

A perfect trip made memorable by our tour driver/guide Dimitris. We were picked up from the cruise ship and we headed to Delphi archaeological museum and site. The splendor of this site is better described in the web sites in words but best to experience in person. There is the Oracle/Temple of Apollo as you follow up the Sacred Way, s atone monument, Ancient Theater and up at the top The Stadium all what would have been beautifully built on the Mount Parnassus slopes overlooking the Corinthian gulf far down with thick growth primarily olive groves. The day was fortunately in the 70sF, breezy and clear. Mid day in temps above mid 80s could be a bit challenging for older folks. The Archaeological museum was absorbing and we especially liked the way where the fascinating artifacts were kept closer and easily browsed through unlike most museums where we tread long distances. We took a lot of pictures and if you can please plan to spend more time here as well as the site. We had a great lunch at To Patrika Mas with spectacular view in Delphi Town. We then breezed thru Arachova which is a nice village built on slopes before turning towards Steiri. Next we stopped at a Byzantine monastery in Steiri. The 10th century structure is beautifully preserved with its golden mosaics on the ceiling overlooking a scenic valley. Nice break for an afternoon road trip. We were taken thru the highway back to Athens. As much as the sight seeing we were highly impressed by Dimitis for his wealth of information on not just the sites and history but also on wide range of topics. We would always remember his knowledge and articulation that would make any collegiate professor proud.

Doing Delphi… choose this trip.

Great day. Picked up bang on time and a skillful drive through the Athens traffic to reach the amazing Delphi museum. The landscape was amazing. Dimitris our driver and guide briefed us on essential history so we knew what to see in the museum enabling us to make the best of the visit. Then onto the site of the Temple of Apollo and the amazing ruins and surroundings. Later Dimitris drove us to a secluded viewing spot where we saw the olive groves that stretch to the sea. Dropped for a late lunch at a great local restuarant and then onto a Byzantine monastery that was breathtaking. It was a fantastic day and Dimitris was on point with the balance between facts and stories. It was all seamless. Fantastic.

How much does Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip cost?

+

Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip take?

+

Is Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Athens to Delphi and Arachova: Private Day-Trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

+

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
