    Rip off

We have been left behind and all I get is every excuse under the sun. Their communication is ver6 confusing. Then they use the confusion to avoid responsibility. DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!

Response from the operator: Mr. Elliot, We are genuinely sorry that you missed your tour, as this was not the experience we wanted you to have. However, we do feel it is important to clarify the facts. Prior to the tour, you confirmed in writing that you would join the revised 9:00 AM departure. We also sent an email reminder several days before the tour, as well as a reminder message the day before, both stating the same meeting time. When you did not arrive at the meeting point, our team made multiple attempts to contact you via phone, WhatsApp and Viator. We also offered to arrange for you to join the group by taxi at the next stop, but you declined this option. We therefore respectfully disagree with your statement that we avoided responsibility. On the contrary, our team made every reasonable effort to help you join the tour despite your late arrival. We always strive to provide excellent service to our guests, which is reflected in the hundreds of positive reviews we have received over the years. While we understand your disappointment at missing the tour, we do not believe it is fair to describe our communication or service as misleading, given the written confirmation of the revised departure time and our repeated attempts to assist you. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

    Great small group tour

Great guide George, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the different sites around Athens. The view of the acropolis on the hillside was stunning.

    Athens small group tour

The day trip ticked off a few iconic places . The tour guide whilst informative and helpful at times we felt there was not enough information provided for toilet stops and food. We basically were on the tour till 1.30 before any opportunity or mention of food to eat and another toilet break. Otherwise we enjoyed the day most time stops were enough to each location except maybe at the end 1 1/2 hrs would be perfect to not feel rushed and end the tour on a great note. It was overall a fun day but full on as well.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the day overall and that the tour allowed you to visit several iconic places. It’s also great to know that you found the guide informative and helpful. At the same time, we truly appreciate your comments regarding the timing and communication of toilet and food stops. We understand how important these breaks are during a full-day tour, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please be assured that we take your feedback seriously and will review this with our team to improve the organization and clarity of such stops in the future. We also value your note about the duration of the final stop. Extending this time to allow for a more relaxed ending is something we will definitely take into consideration. Thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback — it helps us improve our services. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on another tour in the future. Warm regards, Zuzanna Vexperio

Gina was so great and so...

Gina was so great and so nice! She made all of us feel welcome on our little excursions. Great stops along the way to see Acropolis. Great opportunities for photos. I like that it was a smaller group so we weren’t all crammed. She knows so much about the history of Athens. It was such a fun day. I wish there was a little more free time. There were times we felt rushed during Acropolis and the shopping area. Overall a great experience!

Response from the operator: Dear Lindsey, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day with Gina — she’ll be so happy to read this. We also wish we could give everyone a little more free time, but we always prioritize making sure all guests return to the ship safely and on time according to docking schedules. We truly appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you again for another, more relaxed adventure soon! Warm regards, Natalia Vexperio

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Athens Shore Excursion for Cruise Guests – Small Group Experience cost?

Is Athens Shore Excursion for Cruise Guests – Small Group Experience worth it?

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Shore Excursion for Cruise Guests – Small Group Experience?

How far in advance should I book Athens Shore Excursion for Cruise Guests – Small Group Experience?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
