As you walk along its marble paths, you encounter timeless masterpieces such as the Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, the elegant Erechtheion with its famous Caryatid columns, and the monumental Propylaea that once welcomed citizens and pilgrims alike. Every structure reflects the brilliance of the Golden Age of Pericles, when art and intellect flourished. Standing proudly at the heart of Athens’ Syntagma Square, the Greek Parliament (Hellenic Parliament) is one of the city’s most important political and historical landmarks. Housed in the neoclassical Former Royal Palace, built in the 19th century for King Otto, the building has served as the seat of Greece’s democratic government since 1935. Its imposing façade, symmetry, and grand proportions reflect the elegance of European neoclassicism while symbolizing the rebirth of the modern Greek state. In front of the Parliament lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, guarded day and night by the iconic Evzones in traditional uniform. The daily ceremonial changing of the guard is a powerful and deeply moving spectacle. The Greek Parliament is not only a center of political life but also a living monument to Greece’s enduring struggle for freedom, democracy, and national identity.

Its elegant façade is adorned with Ionic columns, intricate sculptures, and towering statues of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Apollo, the god of arts and light. Flanking the entrance are statues of the great philosophers Plato and Socrates, honoring Greece’s timeless contribution to human thought. Our tour guide, Thanasos...
Our tour guide, Thanasos was excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating., He picked up up at our hotel in Pireaus, and then brought us back to the hotel at the end and waited for us to get our luggage and took us to the cruise port. It was not expected, but very convenient for us. We went to a winery with about 5 different wines to try. We had a customized tour since we had been to Athens before and did not want to go back to previously visited sites,
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great experience with Thanasis. We truly appreciate your kind words about his knowledge, friendliness, and flexibility. We’re especially glad that we could customize the tour to your interests and make the transportation arrangements convenient for you, including your transfer to the cruise port. We’re also happy you enjoyed the winery visit and the wine tasting. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Greece for another memorable experience in the future. Wishing you safe and happy travels! warm regards Transfer To Athens

Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $47 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting take?
+

Is Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Athens Highlights: Private Half-Day Tour With Wine Tasting?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
