Informative and Enjoyable 1/2 Day
Tasa was a great and informative driver who spoke English well. He recommended a great spot for lunch that he took us to as well. Highly recommend this company and tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad to hear that Tasos provided an excellent experience and a great lunch recommendation. Your recommendation means a lot to us!

Excellent Tour
Aki was a Fantastic Guide, with excellent historical and city knowledge. He was eager to accommodate our needs - my 79 year old father was having trouble getting around and we wanted to visit some specific stores in Old Town as well as have a nice local lunch. No problem, Aki took care of it all. Made our visit memorable and carefree.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad Aki could accommodate your needs and make your visit enjoyable and memorable. Your kind words mean a lot to us!

Good day
This was a very informative tour. Our ship was late so the tour started later than expected but our team was waiting for us. Our driver was excellent avoiding traffic as much as possible. We were able to see all the sites as promised. The acropolis was a terrible experience. Although Helen explained everything before she left us to explore, it was hard to remember what she told us. Leaving the site was a nightmare with a huge crowd trying to get down to street level. Many guides with their tours passed by us on the up ramp. When we told Helen about this she said that it was allowed. Why then, didn't she stay with us to get us down the hill faster. We were at least 30 minutes trying to get down with hoards of people pushing etc. Although it was as excellent tour, we would have been much better off if our guide had stayed with us for the entire tour.
Response from the operator: I agree that when several cruise ships are in the port, the situation on Acropolis is horrible and I’m sure our government tries its best to make it better. Your tour guide Helen is a wealth of information but the level of information absorption varies between individuals but you hired the additional licensed guide to learn more. The comment about the ramp is a misunderstanding, lost in translation, since there is no possible way to get down faster. You need to follow the queue. I have only positive feedback from groups Helen toured with. I wish this was a 5-star review but thank you for your positive feedback anyway woodwardgirl!!!

Cruise exercusion
What an amazing day. Tasos picked us up from the port - and off we went! He was full of great information and kept us engaged the entire time. He helped me get my tickets for the Acropolis as I hadn't bought them before the tour. The lunch spot he took us to was a great sampling of Greek cuisine. A wonderful first experience in Athens.
Response from the operator: Tasos was a great tour driver and you were great travelers. Thanks so much for your positive feedback Docmom33!!!

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $580 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens Extended Half Day Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
