    The company name...

The company name information to look out for was different from that on the app and as we had no WiFi, we didn't pick up that information on time. Our guide was great though when we picked up the rest of the group at the site. It was a very hot summer day so be prepared for not much shade and a very steep climb uphill. It was worth it to see everything though.

    Terrible!

We booked this trip weeks ago, two days before we receive confirmation and our tickets. We arrived at the meeting point 29 minutes before the schedule time, no one turned up, we waited a further 10 minutes still nothing. I contacted the Viator 24 he help line who after many attempts of trying to contact the operator confirmed they had cancelled our trip without any notice!! Luckily we met the most amazing taxi driver, George who gave us a private tour for not much more...a real knight in shining armour. Thanks again to Viator customer service!

    Athens such a disappointment

The most disappointing thing about this tour was the non-visit to the Acropolis. We pre-paid out tickets and waited in line for our 1:00 pm entrance time. We were shocked to find out that the tour operator gave us expired tickets for 11:00 am . We weren’t the only ones that were affected. Some people had 8:00 am entrance times. We waited for over an hour for them to fix the problem but it wasn’t since we had to be back on the tour bus for 2:45 pm. I’m still waiting for a refund for Viator ..makes no sense to me how one person in the group got their refund right away and we are still waiting hours later. I definitely would not recommend the is tour. Waste of one of our port days.

    Very disappointed

Basically this was not a guided tour. It was an expensive transport from the cruise ship to the Acropolis. A taxi would have been much cheaper. It’s advertised to have an audio guide. Never was it mentioned that I would need WiFi or cell service to download it neither of which I had once I was off the ship. The QR code with link to the download was only sent after I arrived at the bus. So I was unable to download the audio guide. I feel it should have been sent as soon as the trip was paid for. My husband and I were very disappointed. The “tour guide” told me I could use his hot spot which I did but the audio guide was only 4% downloaded when he walked away never to be seen again until 3 hours later. I would not recommend this particular tour to anyone. I would rather have paid more to have a private tour.

    Good trip

Very good attractions but too much time at some. The Acropolis was fantastic, we were left on our own, would have been better with guide.

Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port cost?

    +

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 62 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port?

    +

Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Athens City Tour with Acropolis & Plaka from Piraeus Cruise Port start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
