Scavenger Hunt through Athens
We really enjoyed this experience on our first day in Athens. It was a well-made and fun way to see the highlights of the city (and we were able to fully navigate without using our phones. We loved the completely non-screen activity). We had 4 teenagers who solved all of the puzzles on their own and navigated using the provided maps. We highly recommend especially for families with teens.

Discover Athens while having fun
Great experience, Maëlle is at the top, the puzzles are varied and you can discover Athens on foot, through the ages. My children aged 10 and 12 also enjoyed it very much. The fact that it is in French is very nice too. Thank you!

Best City Wide (Historical) Treasure Hunt
Maelle was our game master and put us right in the game. From the concept, the content to the places the games took us to, my 9 year old and I absolutely loved it. If you don't want a guided tour, but want to learn about Athens through the centuries with a scavenger hunt/escape game twist, this is what you need! Maelle was one message away when we needed clues and offered a wealth of knowledge on local businesses as well as historical info. Merci Maelle! On a adoré le jeu, les recommandations et ton aide. 🤩🎉
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Emilie! 🌟 It was such a pleasure to welcome you and your daughter for the game. I’m happy you both enjoyed exploring Athens in this playful way. Your enthusiasm made the adventure even more fun! Merci à vous deux d’avoir joué le jeu avec autant de curiosité et de bonne humeur 🤩 I hope to welcome you again in Athens for more discoveries.

Awesome
What an incredible way to explore a city. I would say this is perfect for small groups or families. Getting exercise & fresh air, learning history, practice teamwork… all while lots of fun for both me and my son. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re up for something non-traditional, and up for a bit of a challenge!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review and for recommending the game! Happy to hear you both had lots of fun. All the best to you two!

Original activity, fun, at the Top to discover Athens
Great time spent with family which is original and ideal to discover the history of Athens. We were with our 2 big children (17 and 19 years old) and we liked it very much all 4! I highly recommend, it is an unusual and informative activity. One of our best memories of our stay in Greece. Congratulations to Maëlle for carrying out this activity.

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Athens City Game: The Journey through Time: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens City Game: The Journey through Time cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens City Game: The Journey through Time take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens City Game: The Journey through Time worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens City Game: The Journey through Time?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens City Game: The Journey through Time suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Athens City Game: The Journey through Time?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens City Game: The Journey through Time start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
