Great guides and amazing encounters with Meteora
We were so glad we had booked the small group tour with Visit Meteora, and that we had chosen to stay for two nights, to get a sense of the community as well as the grandeur of the monasteries. Our sunset tour guide was Dimitris. He had our minibus group clapping and cheering. Our half-day, three monastery guide was Vassilis, and he was full of information and very friendly. Both guides worked with individual passengers to drop them where they wanted to go - back to their hotel, to a tavern, a restaurant, the town centre etc. Everything was small enough to be personal but large enough to feel like a community of travellers exploring, and to connect across cultures. Warmly recommended!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted that you chose to stay two nights and experience not only the monasteries but also the local community and atmosphere of Meteora. Dimitris and Vassilis will be thrilled to hear your kind words. Creating small, personal experiences while bringing travelers together is exactly what we strive for. Thank you for your warm recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Meteora again in the future!

Magical Meteora
Amazing tour! We had the 3 day tour (2 nights tour) with the sunset tour on the 1st day and the half day minivan tour on the 2nd day. Comfortable transport to Meteora and on the trips themselves. Guides are amazing and take time to explain. Plenty of photostops with guides offering to take our photo. Different monasteries visited on the 2 tours, with each monastery offering something a bit different. On the last day it was rainy and cloudy but we haf booked a Private Food and Wine tasting tour which was worked out perfectly. It was just amazing- plenty of food, great wine and good laughs with our guide Jim. Would definotely recommend spending at least 1 night in Meteora to make the most out of the trip.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your 3-day Meteora experience. Combining the sunset tour with the half-day tour is truly the best way to explore different sides of Meteora, and we’re glad you appreciated the variety of monasteries and photo stops. It’s also great to know that despite the weather, your private food and wine experience turned into such a highlight—Jim will be very happy to hear your kind words! We completely agree that staying at least one night allows you to fully experience the magic of Meteora. We hope to welcome you again in the future! Warm regards, Visit Meteora Team

Great tour
This was the three day tour from Athens to Meteora including Delphi on the way back. Pick up from Athens worked well, large coach which stopped in lovely seaside town for a break on the way to Meteora. Hotel in Meteora (budget) was fine with great breakfast. Sunset tour guide was just four in a minibus. The guide was great and very informative. The following day we did a hike, again just 4 of us, which was great fun and the guide Chris was fantastic, we learned a lot about nature as well as the history of the monasteries. The following day four of us went in a minibus to Delphi, stopping at Thermopylae on the way. Delphi is in a beautiful area and is very interesting. The tour included a public bus ticket back to Athens and all worked like clockwork with this too. The tour was very worthwhile to see a different part of Greece and two world heritage sites and doing it this way, as it was so well organised, made it very pleasurable and worry free.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that the entire 3-day experience—from the Athens pickup and seaside stop, to the stay in Meteora, sunset tour, hike, and visit to Delphi—was smooth, well organized, and enjoyable. It’s wonderful to know that the small-group experiences, especially the hike with Chris, made the trip even more special. We’re also glad the public bus return to Athens worked seamlessly for you. Thank you for trusting us to show you this beautiful part of Greece and its UNESCO World Heritage sites—we truly appreciate your kind words!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 68 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel?
+
Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Athens: 3 days 2 nights Meteora with small size tours & hotel start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
