The Vesuvius and Destroyed Cities Tour is an excursion that includes a visit to Vesuvius, the famous active volcano located near Naples, and the archaeological sites of the ancient cities buried by the eruption of 79 AD, such as Pompeii, Herculaneum. During the tour, visitors can walk to the crater of the volcano, admire the view of the Gulf of Naples and visit the archaeological sites where you can see the remains of the cities buried under ash and volcanic material. You will be able to walk among the ruins of Pompeii, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world where you will learn about the history of the ancient Roman city and how the Romans lived. You will be able to visit Herculaneum, less known but equally fascinating. Unlike Pompeii, it was covered mainly by ash and lapilli, it was buried by a very hot and fast pyroclastic flow, which preserved the buildings in an incredible way with details and frescoes intact.
