False advertising, betrayed by AI art, ruined my day
This happened in April 2024 actually, but I have been angry ever since. I can forgive the fact that it's generally boring and overpriced, but the Generative AI use upset me immensely. Nowhere in their advertisements did they mention the attraction had anything to do with AI, but once you showed up, that was the entire focus. As an artist, I felt utterly betrayed. No one in the creative industry wants to see this. AI is a nightmare for artists, knowing how desperate companies are to replace us for a cheap buck. Their staff were not apologetic at all, insisting I was overreacting. They provided emails for me to send feedback, and no one ever responded. I know my $100+ is gone, but I want an apology and I want to know they'll stop tricking people.

Unique artistic break from the norm
I absolutely love this place and am sad to hear the DC location closed. I have been multiple times. I took my nieces/nephews for Christmas, me and my guy also had our first date there. It is a unique experience. A place to go, sit and just enjoy the art display. It is unlike anything else. I usually stay in the exhibit for 20-30 minutes. The immersive lights can start to get to you after a while, but then we go to the bar and have an immersive drink. They had non-alcoholic themed ones for the kids. Just a really cool artistic break from the norm. I really hope they reopen so we can visit on our anniversary

While the experience is very good and some of it is interactive, I was quite a bit disappointed as to how little you actually get for the price. Depending on how long you want to watch the displays, you could actually be done in less than 45 minutes. What we saw was imaginative, but I left feeling disappointed that there wasn’t more to do, see, experience.

Digital Art Experience
Artechouse is a great experience that doesn’t take to long and can vary seasonally by an array of themes. My first version of a digital art like experience was in Tokyo, Japan, in a place called Team Labs Planet, which blows this out of the water. However, that’s like comparing Disney World to a small town carnival. It’s still great to experience the immersive and interactive digital art, despite its smaller space. It will probably take you 20-40 minutes to have the full experience and not too pricey. So if you haven’t seen and experienced it, I highly recommend it, especially if you have friends and family visiting on top of your normal tour guide duties if you’re local to the area showing them around outside of the Smithsonian chain and monuments.

Most incredible experience!
The entire exhibit was incredible! I visited with my autistic son, the staff were just incredible with him and so welcoming. I actually got a lil motion sickness walking out of main room, but my son spun and stimmed having a blast watching the cherry blossoms art,. After the excitement we sat down and just absorbed and relaxed. He was so calm and mesmerized. Thank you to all the staff and the artists , it was just spectacular and will be back.
