Private Transfer was not there, waiting, Rep kept calling the driver, with No Answer.

Our private transfer that was booked and paid for, was not available for us. The Nexus tour guy at the Punta Cana airport kept calling the driver and could not find him after waiting over 30 min, the rep said they downgraded us to shared transfer and to take the bus (which would have been another hour or so more wait).. or pay a taxi.. we are not impressed that our private transfer was not there for us even after booking and paying in full in advance, after a late night arrival. (which was on time that was not the issue) We requested a refund for the private transfer service that you could not provide. After 2 months, all I get when checking back your customer service, is case # and The refund request is subject to approval from our directors. They are not acknowledging that this incident happened. Will never use their service again. Be very careful paying in advance for Nexus!

Response from the operator: Thanks for taking the time for sharing your feedback from us. I was sorry to learn of your experience and can appreciate your frustration. I can assure you that this not the level of service we would wish for our customers. We know that things can go wrong on vacation and as a company, we think it is important to say sorry to any customer who has found cause for complaint. I accept that this does not change what happened, but we really do try and take your comments on board and use them to improve the quality of our service. Please contact me via email at avazquez@nexustours.com and provide me with additional details and your booking number. Once I received your booking info, I will investigate and revert to you with a full response. I hope that, despite your current feelings, we will have the pleasure of welcoming you on a future Nexus Tours vacation, when I am confident that we will properly restore your confidence in us. Punta Cana Airport Arrival Mixup

Greeting from the representative was great. He escorted us to our vehicle, though we did have to wait a few minutes for one to arrive. No issue there. It was nice to be in warm weather finally. But the driver that showed up simply walked away. The representative loaded our bags in the car and the we sat and waited and waited. The driver never came back to the car. The representative finally came back, told us to get out and retrieved our bags for us. We went to another vehicle and got on our way. Not sure what all this was about, but the process should have been more seamless. We wasted about half an hour. Again the representative was great. The driver had attitude.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet expectations. Your comments have been noted and are important to us, as they help identify areas where we can improve. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Nelson from Sunwing is the best agent to deal with

Our dealing with Nelson at Sunwing Sunscape Coco was beyond amazing ! He is kind, experienced, well organized. I would recommend doing reservations with him for all activities. We loved dealing with him. ❤️ Danielle Moisan and Claude Dorion

Thankfully, there are other options that we can consider in the future.. and it won't be Nexus.

Sadly, my experience with Nexus Tours was quite subpar and I will not use them again for a private airport transfer. We had booked private return transportation through Nexus after seeing their affiliation with Marriott. When we arrived around 10PM, we stood at the desk while the representatives scrambled to find someone to help us. We were brought out to the parking lot and stood there... and stood there. There was NO driver to be found. The guy who brought us out to the parking lot wandered away (to find someone?) and we were left alone to wait. The whole time we stood there with our kids, we were hassled by shady individuals handing us business cards saying stuff like "I can get you ANYTHING you want....". It didn't feel very safe. It took 45 minutes for a driver to finally show up. He grumbled something about our plane being late (it wasn't) and how he had waited for us for over half an hour before he had to take another fare and then come back for us. Jeez, sorry about that. For our return trip from the resort to the airport, we went to the lobby 30 mins before the scheduled departure time and spoke with a Nexus rep that was down there. He did not have us on his list and, again, it seemed very disorganized. A driver arrived about 15 minutes later to take another couple to the airport. The rep explained that we could either go with this non-private option now, or wait until a driver could come for us. "It's up to you" he said. "We can get you to the airport on time, or you can wait for a private driver". After our arrival experience, I was not about to wait. We took the "now" option and crowded into the vehicle with others. I wrote to Nexus after our trip to let them know that the experience had fallen short of expectations and no one replied. I guess they already had our money and just didn't care. Just know that Nexus Tours might advertise one thing and then provide another when you actually get there. There is seemingly no repercussions for giving you service that is less than what you expected. Thankfully, there are other options that we can consider in the future.. and it won't be Nexus.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We deeply regret that your experience with Nexus Tours did not meet your expectations, especially for something as important as your airport transfer. Our goal is to provide seamless, reliable, and efficient service, and it’s clear we fell short in this instance. Please know that we take your concerns seriously. I would appreciate it if you could email me directly at avazquez@nexustours.com with your booking details, so I can personally look into what went wrong and work towards resolving this issue. We are committed to improving our processes and ensuring that such issues are addressed promptly to avoid similar situations in the future. We understand your frustration, and we hope that, in time, we can restore your confidence in Nexus Tours. Thank you for your feedback, and we do hope to have the opportunity to serve you better next time. Alejandro Vazquez – Senior Director of Customer Success. NexusTours.

Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5) cost?

    +

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5) take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5)?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Arrival Luxury Transportation: Punta Cana International Airport to Hotels (1-5) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
