Arenal Hanging Bridges Tour
Mau was our private guide and Victor our driver for a trip to the Arenal Hanging Gardens and Waterfall in March this year. Mau was a fantastic guide, he spotted so much wildlife we would never have seen, he was the best guide we had during our whole tour of Costa Rica. He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife not just in Arsenal but the whole of Costa Rica. Unfortunately you do not have to hire a guide when you enter the Hanging Bridges rainforest, my personal opinion is you should have to pay for a guide. Those who do not pay for a guide try to follow those who have because they are needed if you want to spot the diverse wildlife that exist in the area. Thanks Mau and Victor for a wonderful tour and the great insight into your countries wildlife.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that Mau and Victor made your visit to the Arenal Hanging Bridges and waterfall so memorable. Mau’s knowledge and remarkable ability to spot wildlife truly enrich the experience, and we’ll be sure to share your kind words with both of them. Thank you for choosing ST Costa Rica DMC. We hope to welcome you back for another wonderful adventure in Costa Rica! 🌿🦥

good service!
Swiss Travel took us from our hotel on a day trip to Arenal Volcano. We enjoyed the trip thoroughly! Unfortunately, I left my phone at the hot springs at the tail end of the tour and realized when we reached our hotel - almost 3hr distance from the hot springs. I emailed ST and they were swift in helping track down the phone. They brought the phone back to Liberia and we were able to pick it up prior our departure. This service was thoughtful, attentive, and above and beyond. If you want good service - I recommend ST for your next excursion.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re happy you enjoyed the Arenal Volcano tour and that we could assist with your phone — going the extra mile is part of what we love to do. We hope to see you again soon in beautiful Costa Rica! 🇨🇷🌿

Our guide , Ciro, was very knowledgeable and interesting. The boat ride was fun. The trek through the forest great and best of all was the relaxing hot springs after the exercise.

What a day!
Thank you Yeudi for an incredible day we will never forget! We loved every part of this action-packed tour. The boat ride on Arenal Lake was serene and we even saw a caiman lurking in the waters! The hanging bridges park was breathtaking, with incredible views of the rainforest, the volcano and plenty of monkeys. We even saw a deadly snake (from a safe distance). Lastly, the hot springs spa was the perfect way to relax and the dinner afterwards was great, with plenty for vegetarians. Our tour guide, Yeudi, was very knowledgeable and helpful - we can’t thank him enough for a fantastic day!
Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your amazing experience! We're thrilled that you enjoyed every part of the tour, from the serene boat ride to the breathtaking rainforest views and the relaxing hot springs. It’s great to hear that Yeudi made your day even more special. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon! 🌿✨

I went and enjoyed it, here's my opinion
This is a good outing but be prepared to be gone the entire day. Also make sure that you are aware of the company name before you leave your location. I had to leave my hotel and walk 3 blocks to meet at the pickup location. When I got to the pickup, I just had my ticket, I didn't know I was supposed to give the company name. No one informed me of that. Was very frustrated in the beginning but it turned out okay. Also, this excursion is not for those, who don't like walking long distances. THIS IS A TOTAL WORKOUT! Especially in the park with the hanging bridges. I had a good time, it was no issues for me but someone else might not find it as enjoyable. Also, bring yourself some snacks. You will have lunch and dinner, which is good but you may need something to much on in between the long bus ride.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your insights and are glad to hear you had a good time. Your comments will help future travelers prepare for the experience. Pura Vida!

Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Liberia.
How much does Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape cost?
+
Prices start at $325 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Liberia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape take?
+
Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Liberia is not rushed.
Is Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Liberia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Liberia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Liberia and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Liberia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Liberia?
+
On Outty we rank every Liberia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure in Volcano Combo Tour! - Zip Line, Waterfall, Hot Springs and More, Sloth Watching, Coffee, Chocolate & Waterfall from Guanacaste, Costa Rica Guanacaste Airport ( LIR )Private Arrival Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Liberia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Liberia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape?
+
Included: Professional guide; Lunch; Dinner; In-vehicle air conditioning; and Local taxes. Not included: Gratuities; and Alcoholic drinks. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 55 listed pickup locations in and around Liberia. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
Is Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape wheelchair or stroller accessible?
+
The operator notes: Not recommended for pregnant travelers; and Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.
What happens to Arenal Rainforest & Thermal Escape if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Liberia. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
