Our guide owns this business and you can tell by the small touches!

Worth every penny! Ole reached out to us ahead of time to move our booking to another day since we were the only ones booked on our day. This showed me that he really cares as he is the sami owner of the business. The day was delightful and ended in Sommeroy with a delious buffet lunch at the resort on the island. I wanted a small, personal tour and this was it! Thanks Ole!

Best Tromso Sami tour

The best tour in Tromso. We stopped at so many beautiful spots along the fjords. The reindeer were so friendly and beautiful they eat from your hands. We learnt so much about Sami culture from our 2 Sami guides for 7 hours. We stopped for lunch at the most scenic spot with many selections delicious food from chicken to whale . Fabulous deserts too. Loved this tour so glad we went.

A Must-Do Sami Experience in Tromsø

I had a wonderful time on the Wondering Reindeer Sami experience. The tour combines so much into one day: meeting and feeding reindeer, learning about Sámi culture in a traditional tent, and enjoying breathtaking views of fjords and mountains. Sitting around the bonfire listening to stories and traditional singing was especially memorable. The stop at Sommarøy for a delicious meal was the perfect addition, and the scenery throughout the day was absolutely stunning. The guide and reindeer shepherd were very warm and knowledgeable. As the only Black traveler in the group, I felt completely welcomed and comfortable throughout. Highly recommend—this experience is truly special.

Breathtaking Scenery and Memorable Cultural Experience

I had an amazing time on the Arctic Fjords and Reindeer Experience by Wondering Reindeer. I liked the small group size, and we had a nice amount of time to explore the fjords and enjoy the reindeer and Sámi culture experience without feeling rushed. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and he is of Sámi heritage. Together with Sara, whose family owns the reindeer herd, they wore traditional Sámi costume and shared fascinating insights into Sámi traditions, stories, and way of life. Hearing them sing traditional Sámi songs and experiencing culture in a traditional tent with hot chocolate and cookies made the whole experience feel authentic and memorable. The reindeer were calm, well cared for, and not overcrowded. We also had a proper meal at a hotel restaurant, which was a nice break during the day. Multiple stops at different fjords offered breathtaking views, and I especially loved walking on the glacier, it was unforgettable. Overall, this tour is a wonderful combination of nature and culture, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful Arctic Fjords and reindeer experience.

How long does Arctic Fjords and Reindeer Experience – Small group tour take?

Is Arctic Fjords and Reindeer Experience – Small group tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 182 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Arctic Fjords and Reindeer Experience – Small group tour?

+

+

How far in advance should I book Arctic Fjords and Reindeer Experience – Small group tour?

+

Around 64 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
