Appleton Estate is a great place to visit, while in Jamaica.

We were greeted by Tashae at the front desk and she was wonderful. We went to the welcome bar where Andra the bartender, makes the best rum punch. My Tour was conducted by the very knowledgeable Shamoy. We ended the tour by eating at the restaurant where Burma served us with a smile, I told her I will be back for some more food. Overall a great trip to the Estate.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review. We’re happy to hear that you had a great time.

    Immersive and fun experience!

Thank you for an incredible experience at Appleton Estate! Our guide Danielle, was warm, friendly and so knowledgeable! And the food in the restaurant was excellent! The rum tasting was also a fantastic experience and tasting the different varieties was definitely a learning experience. I had no idea that the tastes could be so different and Danielle did a great job explaining the flavor profiles. We also decided to taste the 15 and 21 year aged rums and fell in love with both of them! We purchased the 21 year old rum and look forward to savoring it in the future!! Anyone visiting Jamaica should make it a priority to visit Appleton Estate!! :-)

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such an incredible experience at Appleton Estate. Danielle will be so pleased to know her warmth and knowledge made your visit even more special. It’s great that you enjoyed the rum tasting and discovered the unique flavor profiles of our aged rums — the 15 and 21-year-olds are truly something special! We hope you enjoy every sip of your 21-year-old bottle. Thank you again for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Jamaica! 🥃🇯🇲

Appleton Estate, YS Falls and Floyds Pelican Bar

Went to Appleton as part of YS Falls and Pelican bar. Absolutely loved Appleton. Peter was a fantastic host. It was a really enjoyable experience. Loved YS Falls, even in the rain. Pelican bar is overrated in my opinion.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re so glad to hear you had a great time at Appleton Estate—It’s wonderful that you still loved YS Falls despite the rain! We appreciate your honest feedback about the Pelican Bar as well— We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future!

Appleton Estate Rum Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negril.

How much does Appleton Estate Rum Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negril usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Appleton Estate Rum Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negril is not rushed.

Is Appleton Estate Rum Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negril, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Appleton Estate Rum Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Appleton Estate Rum Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Appleton Estate Rum Tour?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negril can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negril and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Appleton Estate Rum Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negril within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Negril?

    +

On Outty we rank every Negril experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Transportation and Tour from Montego Bay to Blue Hole/Secret Falls, Negril Glass Bottom Boat Tour Snorkeling and Booby Cay, ATV, Bamboo Rafting and Negril Ricks Cafe from Montego Bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Negril?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Negril?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
