    About this experience

Antelope Canyon X, located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, Arizona, is named after the Xs carved into the Navajo Sandstone created by millions of years of rainfall and wind. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon. Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two. Canyon X is a mixture of the characteristics of both the Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two and brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

Very good tour. Would highly recommend.

The tour was very good. Small group size with each tour guide. We were able to take our time through the canyon, did not seemed rushed at all. Guide was very informative and took our picture at a few of the stops.

    Beware bad merchandise

Beware buying merchandise at Canyon X. They gave me the wrong item, later I called for return address, sent it back, disputed the credit card charge, they had the charge reinstated! Now I’m out T-shirt and $35. Beware!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We genuinely value all guest feedback, as it helps us understand what is happening within our attraction. Please note that Canyon X is an independent retail vendor operating within our scenic area, and its sales, returns, and billing practices are managed solely by that store. Our ticketing and admission services are completely separate from their merchandise operations. If you have any questions about our admission services, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Sincerely,

Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Page.

How much does Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour) cost?

    +

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Page usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour) take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Page is not rushed.

Is Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 210 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Page, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour)?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour)?

    +

Around 74 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Page can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Page and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Page within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Page?

    +

Page exists for two icons: guided Antelope Canyon slot tours, which are the only legal way in, and Horseshoe Bend overlooks, plus Lake Powell boat trips and Colorado River float runs. On Outty we rank every Page experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lower Antelope Canyon Hiking Tour, Navajo Dinner Theater, Hoop Dancing, and Native Storytelling, Secret Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Overlook. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Page?

    +

March to May and September to October; midday canyon slots are best for light beams. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Page?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
