    Well worth the visit

We as a family of 8 was too expensive to do the trip. We hired and went over to the market ourselves giving us unlimited time there. The market is incredibly humongous. I could have spent a lot more time there and the food hall was great very cheap for fruits vegetables cheese nuts you name it they got it.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the Manavgat River area and especially the local market experience, which is indeed one of the highlights of the region with its wide variety of fresh produce and local products. Regarding your comment about pricing, we would like to clarify that the Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour is a fully organized experience that includes hotel transfers, boat cruise, waterfall visit, and guided logistics throughout the day. For families of 8, private transportation or arranging individual travel can sometimes feel more flexible in certain parts of the itinerary, such as spending extra time at the market, as you experienced. The market itself is open and independent, which is why guests are always welcome to explore at their own pace either with the tour schedule or by visiting separately, as you chose to do. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope you still enjoyed the beauty and atmosphere of Manavgat overall. Kind Regards 🧿Tourmania Team

    Manavgat boat Antalya

We had a really enjoyable day on the Manavgat River boat trip. The transfer from Antalya was well organized and on time, which made the start of the tour smooth and stress-free. The boat itself was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of shaded seating areas. Cruising along the Manavgat River was very relaxing, and the highlight was definitely the stop where the river meets the sea — swimming between fresh and salt water was a unique experience. Lunch on board was simple but tasty, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the trip. After the boat tour, we also had some free time at the Manavgat Bazaar, which was great for shopping and experiencing the local atmosphere. Overall, it’s a great value-for-money excursion if you’re looking for a mix of relaxation, scenery, and a bit of local culture. Recommended for families and couples alike.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed the relaxing cruise, the unique swimming spot, and your time at Manavgat Bazaar. It’s great to hear everything was smooth and met your expectations. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards 🧿Tourmania Team

Thank goodness for a good sense of humour

We were picked up from our hotel on time at 7am and it took just over an hour to collect others from various hotels. We stopped on the way to the boat for about 15mins to use the loos and grab a coffee and pastry. The boat was based on a pirate ship and reasonably clean with a covered area to get into the shade if you needed to. We were immediately approached by a guy with an iguana for what I assume was for a photo opportunity which we refused. There was also a macaw parrot that was being offered up for photos too. We set off up the river for about 20 minutes before going out to sea. We were at sea for 15 mins before turning back up the river to where we stopped at a spot for swimming for an hour. This was apparently paradise 😂. We followed worn carpeted paths to an area with sun beds which had seen better days. The beach was full of litter and the wooden structures were dilapidated and there was a mound of what looked like old carpets and broken furniture. There was also a camel that tourists could pay to ride for about 100m up the beach and back. Not quite how I envision paradise! We then returned to the boat for lunch of chicken, couscous and cabbage salad which was lovely. After lunch we headed back up the river to our bus where we headed to an indoor bazaar. Not on the itinerary and I suspect, due to being issued a wristband before entering, the tour guide/company get commission for. This had priced fake designer goods in well laid out rows. The majority of which was menswear. We stayed here for about an hour before leaving to the waterfalls. We were only given 20 mins at the falls which is a shame as it is such a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or ice-cream. We then went to the outdoor market and given an hour which wasn’t enough time and felt rushed. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this trip. I can’t set aside my dismay at the poor animal welfare aspect after seeing the tiny carriers the iguanas were shoved into for what would have been hours and the poor condition of the parrot and camel. The state of the beach that would not have taken much to clean up and then to have to endure the bus driver smoking and using his mobile phone on the long drive back. Thankfully we can laugh about bad travel experiences!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience. We are genuinely sorry to hear how disappointed you were, and we appreciate the honesty in your review. While we are pleased to hear that certain aspects, such as the punctual hotel pick-up, the river cruise itself, and the lunch on board, met your expectations, it is clear that several important elements of the day did not. For this, we sincerely apologize. We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding animal welfare. This is a matter we take very seriously. The practices you described do not reflect the standards we expect from our partners, and your feedback has been forwarded for immediate review. Any activity that raises concerns about animal treatment is unacceptable to us. We regret that the swimming stop and beach area did not meet expectations, and we understand how the condition of the facilities and surroundings negatively affected your enjoyment. Your comments regarding cleanliness and maintenance have also been shared with our operation team. Regarding the market visit, we apologize if this felt unexpected or uncomfortable. While shopping stops are common on regional tours, guests should always feel informed and never pressured. We also regret that the time allocation at the waterfalls and market felt unbalanced and rushed. Finally, we are very sorry to hear about the driver’s behavior during the return journey. Safety and professionalism are non-negotiable, and this feedback has been escalated internally. We truly regret that this tour did not meet your expectations and appreciate you raising these concerns, as they help us improve both the experience we offer and the partners we work with. Kind regards, Tourmania

Avoid this promised trip of “paradise”

Be patient. Read until the end. And don’t waste your money! We were collected at 7am from our hotel. Nice comfortable bus. We then spent nearly 2 hours collecting lots of other guests until we arrived at our boat. As soon as we got on the boat we were hassled by the staff to interact with their parrot and reptiles. One of the staff picked up the Iguana by the tail and the poor thing was left dangling. The poor thing looks startled with hands and armed outstretched as if it was terrified of falling. He continued to walk around the boat with it swinging in his arms. We confronted him as he was pestering us to stroke it. He soon walked away when he could see how unhappy we were of this mistreatment. We then took a very short river trip out to sea. Turned around and came back to the shore where we had to get off and “enjoy” the beach which was described as paradise. It was more like a shanty town. The beach area was full of rubbish, plastic bottles, broken furniture and dishevelled huts. It was far from paradise. Why would a tour such as this one include a trip to a beach? Every tourist on that boat had probably just come from a hotel with a pool that is also close to a beach. And a beach as bad as this one! We got back on the boat. Lunch was tasty. In fact this was the best part of the day. We had chicken, cous cous and salad. We then cruised for 10 mins and that was the end of that. A pathetic advertisement for a boat trip! We went to an indoor bazaar. Fixed price. It wasn’t on the itinerary and we suspected the tour guide was getting something out of it as we were all given bands to identify us when we bought something. One hour later, back on the bus to the waterfalls. We were given 20 mins and then back on the bus to the outdoor market. The planned itinerary. Our guide suggested 45 mins. We agreed one hour. Lovely market for those that love shopping. Lots of clothes, shoes, etc and fresh veg and spices. Quite a few coffee shops too. Then the 2 hour drive back. All going well until our driver starts texting, calling, sending voice notes on his mobile whilst driving. Apparently it’s prohibited in Turkey! As well as putting passengers at risk. We were the final 2 guests for the latter part of the journey and then our driver starts smoking. Obviously we weren’t important enough to be considered despite us not being 8 minutes from our drop off. Our guide didn’t seem to offer any service. In fact I wondered what the point of his role is for the day! Very unhappy with this trip

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in such detail. We are truly sorry to read your review and regret that this tour caused you such disappointment and concern. We are particularly disturbed by your comments regarding animal handling on board. Any form of mistreatment is completely unacceptable and does not align with our standards or values. Your feedback has been escalated immediately for investigation with our boat operator, and this matter is being taken very seriously. We also sincerely apologize that the beach stop did not reflect how it is described and that the overall cruise time felt far too short. We understand your frustration, especially when expectations are set differently, and we acknowledge that this did not provide the quality experience you were entitled to. Regarding the unplanned shopping stop, we regret that this felt unexpected and uncomfortable. Guests should always feel informed and never pressured during a tour. Your feedback on time allocation at the waterfalls and market has also been noted and shared internally. Most concerning are your comments about driver behavior. Using a mobile phone while driving and smoking in the vehicle are strictly against safety regulations and our operating standards. This issue has been escalated as a priority, as passenger safety is non-negotiable. Finally, we regret that you felt the guide did not provide meaningful service throughout the day. A guide’s role is to support, inform, and ensure guests feel cared for, and we are sorry this was not your experience. We genuinely appreciate you raising these issues publicly. While we regret that this tour did not meet expectations, your feedback is invaluable in helping us address shortcomings and improve the experiences we offer. Kind regards, Tourmania

    Great river cruise

Great river cruise - brilliant stop off at where the sea (warm) meets the river (cold). Basic but delish lunch, lovely friendly staff. The stop at the market was a bit too long (2 hours) was the only draw back

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Manavgat River Cruise, especially the unique swimming stop where the sea meets the river, as well as the tasty lunch and our friendly team. We also appreciate your comment about the market stop — your feedback helps us improve future experiences. We’re glad you had a great day overall and hope to see you again on another Tourmania tour. Best regards, The Tourmania Team

Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Antalya.

How much does Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Antalya usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Antalya is not rushed.

Is Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Antalya, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Antalya can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Antalya and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Antalya: Manavgat River Cruise, Waterfalls and Market Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Antalya within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Antalya?

    +

On Outty we rank every Antalya experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Perge, Aspendos, Side and Waterfall Full Day Tour, Antalya: Perge, Aspendos, Side & Manavgat Waterfalls Tour, Full-Day Tour of Pamukkale from Antalya with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Antalya?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Antalya?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
