    Beautiful Views.

Our guide Andres was amazing very knowledgeable and always smiling. Tricia our backup guide was also very helpful. The walk was easy and you don’t need a great deal of fitness to complete it. Great scenery

    Amazing

This was such a great day- our guide showed up at exactly the time they said they would and we had the opportunity to stop and get coffee and breakfast/ snacks on the way. The ride was comfortable and Patricia told us about the region along the way. It was an amazing hike and just incredible scenery with lunch by the river. When we got back to the car there were snacks and wine. The hike was not too intense but the beginning was pretty rocky. I would say medium intensity. I would do it again and again- I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful views.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the entire experience, from the early morning pickup to the hike itself. It’s great to know that Patricia helped make the journey even more special by sharing her knowledge about the region along the way. The Andes truly offer a unique setting, and we’re glad you appreciated both the scenery and the balance of the hike. As you mentioned, the first section can be a bit rocky, but it usually becomes more gradual and enjoyable as you continue into the valley. We also love hearing that you enjoyed the small details like the breakfast stop, the riverside lunch, and the well-deserved snacks and wine at the end. It would be a pleasure to have you join us again for another adventure in the mountains. Warm regards, Ando Andes Team

    Best Hiking Excursion Ever!

My family and I have been fortunate to explore many different countries and had fun adventures. The day we spent with Gonzalo hiking the Maipo Valley was one of the best excursions we’ve ever taken! Perfect weather, beautiful scenery, and having Gonzalo as our tour guide made it a perfect day. We even hiked back down with a herd of 100+ goats! And the surprise waiting for us at the bus was super special. If you can spare a day on your Santiago vacation and love to hike, I highly recommend this excursion.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re truly happy to hear that your day hiking in the Maipo Valley with Gonzalo was such a memorable experience for you and your family. The Maipo Valley has a special way of surprising people — from the beautiful Andean scenery to unexpected moments like sharing the trail with a herd of goats! We’re especially glad Gonzalo helped make the day so enjoyable. Our guides love sharing their knowledge and passion for the Andes, and it’s great to hear that it made the experience even more meaningful. And we’re happy you enjoyed the little surprise waiting at the van after the hike — we think a day in the mountains always deserves a nice ending. Thank you again for choosing AndoAndes to be part of your adventure in Chile. We hope to see you back in the Andes someday!

A Perfect Introduction to the Andes!

This hike exceeded my expectations and was the highlight of my time in the Santiago area. It was the perfect introduction to the Andes, with incredible scenery and stunning vistas throughout the day. The route was active and engaging without being overly strenuous — a great balance that left us feeling accomplished while still being able to enjoy the surroundings. Our guides were fantastic. Rafael, the lead guide, shared so much knowledge about the landscape, geology and history of the area, which made the experience even more meaningful. The second guide was also incredibly kind and attentive, helping make sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and supported. The day ended with such a thoughtful touch — wine, drinks and snacks while taking in the views. The group dynamic made it even better; it was a small group of seven hikers, which made the experience feel personal and fun. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Santiago who enjoys being outdoors. It’s a wonderful way to experience the Andes in a memorable and approachable way.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re truly happy to hear that the hike was the highlight of your time in Santiago and such a memorable introduction to the Andes. It’s great to know the balance of the route, the scenery, and the small-group experience all came together for you. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Rafael and the rest of the team — they’ll really appreciate it. Ending the day with wine and snacks in the mountains is one of our favorite moments too. Thanks again for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to the Andes someday.

Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.

How much does Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $270 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.

Is Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour?

    +

Included: Snow shoes; Hotel pickup and drop-off; Bottled water; Bilingual guide; and Alcoholic beverages. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 2 listed pickup locations in and around Santiago. Be ready about 60 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour offered in?

    +

It is offered in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

The operator notes: Not recommended for pregnant travelers. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour if the weather is bad?

    +

This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.

What do travelers say about Andes Day Volcano 8k Private Tour?

    +

Across 25 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include photo opportunities, the guide, organization. The views and photo stops come up again and again. One thing to know: Expect real walking or climbing: reviewers mention the effort involved.
