About this experience
This tour takes us across the Isthmus of Corinth and the Peloponnese to the valley of the river Alfios to see the ruins of the ancient Olympia, the historic site of the Olympic Games. This was the greatest of the Panhellenic Games and every four years Greeks from all the different city-states would put aside their disputes and come together to compete. The importance of Olympia can still be seen from its ruins, including the Temple of Zeus, which once contained a 13 meter statue of the god made of gold and ivory, the Temple of Hera, the stadium and the Shrine of Pelops. Even today, the Olympic Flame is lit in Olympia and then taken on a relay across the world to end up in the city hosting the Olympic Games. As we cross the Isthmus of Corinth, we stop by the Corinth Canal. Cut 6.4 kilometers through solid rock, it connects the Saronic Gulf and the Corinthian Gulf. It was finished in 1893, even though the idea existed at least as far back as 602 BC!

Back to back Tours to Ancient Olympia and Delphi.
CaTTaxi did an amazing job with our two tours this week. Panos was our driver and he was amazing. He was very thoughtful, had fresh, cold waters for us, explained everything in detail, even took us on side trips to get coffee when we requested and to see an additional site that he realized we were going to walk to. I would highly recommend this company and Panos as a driver.

Professional, top, accommodating experience!
To start, Terry was very kind in helping to customize a side tour to Olympia, Pirgos where we had some family roots. Dimitris picked us up promptly with a clean car, ensured we had breakfast, coffee, and water before we took off. He was knowledgeable through every stop and was very accommodating for us to take the we needed vs worrying about getting back to athens quickly. He gave us many tips for our continuing and very likely for future trips. If you get dimitris, you will truly enjoy a positive greek experience suited to your needs!

The Best Tour Company
My friend and I took the one day tour to Olympia today and we had an excellent time due, in no small part, to the wonderful company and also the excellent guide provided to us, Dimitris. The man was professional, courteous, kind, knowledgeable and a joy! His intelligence and love of his homeland made out enjoyment almost surpass his. CATTaxi really is expertly run and operated. A lot of thought and time went into planning this on their part. I have been on many tours in many countries but Dimitris and CATTaxi surpass any other company. When we return to Greece (and due to Dimitris and CATTaxi, we will), we will use your service for all our travel needs. Again, thank you CATTaxi and Mr. Sakkis

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ancient Olympia (Full Day): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Ancient Olympia (Full Day) cost?
+
Prices start at $990 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ancient Olympia (Full Day) take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Ancient Olympia (Full Day) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ancient Olympia (Full Day)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ancient Olympia (Full Day) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ancient Olympia (Full Day)?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ancient Olympia (Full Day) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
