Take this trip!
This trip is special. This trip isn’t really about the exceptional winery we visited where we sat with the owner and winemaker for probably far too long discussing and tasting the wines. It’s not about the picturesque small friendly village of Colmenar where we strolled the cobblestone streets and saw the remnants of the recent running of the bulls. It’s not about the magnificent and interesting renovation project that we hope turns into a flourishing wellness center. It’s also not about the delicious paella lunch we were served in the solarium. It’s really all about Roy and Carlos. Warm, friendly, informative and deeply invested in the love of what they do. Do not hesitate to take this trip, it’s like no other.
Response from the operator: Dear Joseph, very touching to get such a review from you and your wife. Carlos, as caretaker of the property is a dying breed - he lives and breaths the land, and has a passion and energy that few have, so very happy to hear he was able to transmit it despite the language barrier. Hope you both had a pleasant stay in Spain, please stay in touch.

An Amazing Day!
What a fantastic day we had. Even with the August heat it was something very special. The towns the winery, the cave, the wine and an amazing lunch on a secluded estate! Very very special day.
Response from the operator: Many thanks Chris, it's always nice to host guests who enjoy listening to the rich history of this region and connecting to the past as well as the wine! Enjoy the rest of your visit to Spain and Europe, and thanks gain.

The best winery tour! Must do.
We had the most wonderful experience on this tour. Roy, the tour guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The winery tour exceeded our expectations. We have done winery tour before but we learned so much on this one. And on top of that, the wine was incredible!!!! After the winery we had lunch at “the ranch”. The place is breathtaking and the food was amazing! We didn’t want to leave. Thanks for a marvelous experience.
Response from the operator: Enjoy the wine back home, and please stay in touch! All the best.

Hidden gem in Spain
If you're looking to really know and understand Spain, take this tour. One of our goals was to get to know Spain and not just do the typical Tourist things. Roy made this very memorable for us, it was exactly what we set out to do. Going to the country-side (only 45 minutes away), visiting an outstanding winery and Olive Orchard/Mineral Water estate, was amazing!!! The history and legacy of the winery and the orchard estate was what we wanted. The local people (Colmenar de Oreja), the people at the winery (Peral) and the staff at the orchard estate (Carabana) makes you appreciate the Spanish people, salt of the earth. The lunch we had in the solarium, surrounded by the gardens, running stream and trees seemed like it was all out of a classical painting. All of your senses are engaged. It is a hidden gem.
Response from the operator: So glad you enjoyed your visit! Wishing you a pleasant and memorable time in Spain.

The best tour we have ever been on.
This is where a 5 star review does not do this tour justice. We would give it a 10+. This tour takes you to a charming piece of rural Spain largely bypassed by the normal tourist route. Firstly the winery - Boutique Petal winery. A wonderful experience- historic cellars and a very personal and informative wine tasting experience. Also the wines are excellent! The tour of the charming little town of Colmenar de Oreja was lovely. The highlight for us though was the visit to the Carabana Water estate. A wonderful restoration project where we had a tour of the museum and a lovely paella lunch in the Gardens with a view of the waterfall. After lunch you can either cycle, walk or have a four wheel drive around the estate and countryside, we chose the latter. We were also blessed to do this tour while everything was verdant. A big thank you to Roy and Carlos for a truly amazing experience!
Response from the operator: Dear Gary, your review warms the heart - much appreciate your sincerity, and so glad we could share our little bit of paradise with you and Barbara before your return back to the UK. Please stay in touch.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country cost?
+
Prices start at $338 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Tapas & Wine Tour with Rooftop Views and Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Signature Private Wine Escape and Lunch by Madrid Wine Country?
+
