Insightful, Amazing

Ahmed and his team really made us feel welcome, from the very beginning to the end. I never knew you could do this in Cairo. But it was a true gem of an experience. Looking at the stars at night felt so beautiful, just pure peace and bliss. Surrounded with nothing but silence. We also got to see the telescope which I believe is the biggest and oldest in Africa and the Middle East… Ahmeds team really gave us an insight in how it’s used, the role of liquid nitrogen for the telescope, spoke about the digitalised element of it and even showed us pictures of star clusters, nebulas the milkyways and galaxies. Honestly… I’ve never seen it before and seeing it for the first time was a night to remember. If you love astronomy this is definitely the trip for you. Wholesome and a life experience. Thank you Ahmed and team. For showering us with your kindness and showing us all the cool spots.

Night under the stars

I could easily say that this was one of the best experiences of my life, from the start to finish the tour was handled so well with a professional astrophysicist guiding us along the way. The night was filled with laughter and excitement; a very friendly atmosphere. As for the telescope, me and my friends were amazed by not just the size of it but the way it operates which was shown to us by the astrophysicist. The observatory was opened from the roof to show us how the telescope observes the cosmos and later being shown the images on the computer which were truly beautiful. I could go on and write a lot more but genuinely words wouldn’t do justice as to how amazing the night was, I would absolutely recommend this to everyone!

A dreamy to unreal experience!

This journey is beyond my imagination! The observatory standing at the top of the mountain, with endless stars overhead, was silent around it, only the whispers of the universe. I've never gazed so quietly into the night sky, and those stars seemed brighter and closer than ever, as if they could be touched with their hands. Best of all, we also had a bonfire rising in the mountains, grilling food, chatting, the night breeze blowing gently, and the whole atmosphere was romantically unkind. The feeling was really special, both relaxing and shocking, like a brief escape from the real world into a dream that belonged to the stars.

A hidden gem in Cairo

I’m glad I came across this tour. It’s definitely something different and new to do in Cairo. The older observatory is a unisco heritage site which is soemthing I wouldn’t have known. I was glad to know the tour includes a private room on the observatory premise to rest at night. I really enjoyed this trip. Thanks Ahmed
