Cute, fun event
We got a little Puzzle book that required visiting various sites around town to solve. Very entertaining, but I don't think we learned a lot
Response from the operator: Thanks for joining! And we will take the feedback into consideration for updates and improvements. Best wishes

A must do!
We had a great time! We were able to do it at our pace and the map had restaurants and cafe recommendations aswell! Definitely a great way to see the city and different historic sites
Response from the operator: Thanks for joining us! We are so glad you enjoyed :)

Good way to explore downtown Amsterdam
Great scavenger hunt meets unguided tour. Perfect opportunity to self-explore the downtown area of Amsterdam in a short window of time. Even better if it’s a nice day! Will be back to try the other games when friends from abroad visit!

Great fun experience keeps different age groups entertained from teens to adults. Would recommend booking before 4pm start time so you can do it leisurely
Response from the operator: Hi there, Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re really glad to hear you had a great time and that the game kept everyone engaged - from teens to adults. That’s exactly what we aim for 😊 And that’s a great tip about starting earlier in the day - taking it at a relaxed pace definitely makes the experience even more enjoyable. Thanks again for playing with us, and we hope to see you again in another city! Best wishes, Mystery City Games Management

Super fun!
What a fun adventure! It's like a treasure hunt & escape room had a baby. 😂 It wasn't difficult to solve the puzzles, but you do get a phone number so you can text for help if necessary.
Response from the operator: Hi there, Thank you for the fantastic review - we love that description! 😄 We’re really glad you enjoyed the mix of treasure hunt and escape room elements, and that the puzzles felt just right. And yes, the hint system is always there in case anyone gets stuck - but it sounds like you had everything under control! Thanks again for playing with us, and we hope to see you again in another city! Best wishes, Management

Why this scores 80
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.
How much does Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 157 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amsterdam Treasure Hunt: The Mystery of a Secret Sender start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
