Could not find the bus departure.
We did not know where to go to find the bus. We wandered around the station for more than an hour in vain. There were missing explanations. We cannot judge the experience. We do not speak English, which does not make things easier.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, after carefully reviewing your comments alongside our clearly published tour description and Additional Information section, we must respectfully but firmly address several factual inaccuracies in this review that could mislead future travelers. This tour is explicitly described as a Self-Guided Audio Tour — not a bus tour, not a GPS-guided tour, and not a group excursion of any kind. There is no bus, no departure point, and no meeting location because none are part of this experience. Our listing clearly states, multiple times, that travelers have complete freedom to choose where to start, where to finish, which attractions to visit, and in what order — with the flexibility to even split the tour across multiple days. Spending over an hour searching for a bus at a train station reflects a fundamental misreading of the product that was booked, and this cannot be attributed to any shortcoming on our part. Our Additional Information section, which is accessible to every traveler before and after booking, explicitly explains that on your selected travel date and before your start time, you receive two private access links via the booking platform's messaging system — Link 1 for your complete SoundCloud audio guide playlist and Link 2 for your interactive Google My Maps itinerary. There are no physical materials to collect, no staff to check in with, and no vehicle to board. The tour begins the moment you open those links, wherever you choose to start. Regarding the language concern: our listing clearly states that audio guide language must be selected at the time of booking and cannot be changed after confirmation. It also states that if your preferred language is not available, travelers must contact us at least 48 hours in advance so we can prepare it specially. You selected English Audio as your tour language. Our materials were delivered exactly as booked. If English was not your preferred language, the appropriate course of action — clearly communicated in our listing — was to contact us before your tour date, not to search for a bus that was never part of this product. This review does not reflect a failure of our service. It reflects a situation where the traveler did not read the product description, booked a language they do not speak, and then attempted to use this tour as if it were a completely different type of product. The claim that "explanations were missing" is directly contradicted by our extensive Additional Information section, which addresses every aspect of how to access and use this tour. This review is therefore inaccurate, misleading, and not reflective of the product that was offered and delivered. We respectfully request that this review be reconsidered for removal from this platform, as it describes an experience entirely unrelated to this product, contains factually incorrect claims, and risks confusing and misleading future travelers who are considering a legitimate and well-documented self-guided audio tour experience. — Ethical Standards Warning: We encourage honest feedback, but require it to be factual, ethical, and based on legitimate experiences rather than personal assumptions or attempts to discredit our professional services. Future travelers should be aware that some reviews may be written with ulterior motives rather than genuine customer experiences. We maintain strict standards for ethical business practices and will take appropriate action to protect our reputation and honest customers.

Love the walking tour of Amsterday
Great way to quickly learn more about the city. Engaging commentary from knowledgeable talking heads.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you loved exploring Amsterdam with our audio tour! It's fantastic that you found the commentary engaging and knowledgeable—our narrator works hard to bring those stories and hidden details to life. One of the best parts about this self-guided experience is that you had complete control over your journey. You could choose which attractions interested you most, explore them in any order, linger at your favorites, and move at your own pace—no rushing to keep up with a group! For anyone else considering this tour: you'll receive two private access links on your travel date (a SoundCloud playlist with all the audio guides and an interactive Google My Maps itinerary). You can start and finish wherever you like, even split the tour across multiple days, and visit only the attractions that appeal to you. Just bring your headphones, a charged phone, and you're ready to discover Amsterdam on your own terms! Thanks again for choosing our tour and taking the time to share your experience. We're so glad we could help you connect with Amsterdam's incredible history and culture! Safe travels! 🌷

Rip off!
Sorry, what a mess! A computer voice speaks completely monotonously boring things in a computer-translated bad robotic German. Can't stand it!
Response from the operator: We must address several inaccuracies in your review to provide accurate information for future travelers. Your complaint about "computer voice" and "computer-translated German" contradicts our actual service delivery. Our audio guides feature professional human narrators with warm, conversational storytelling styles, not robotic computer-generated voices. Additionally, our booking system clearly states that customers must select their preferred language during booking, and language selection cannot be changed after confirmation. If German wasn't available at the time of your booking, our policy requires customers to contact us 48+ hours in advance so we can prepare the language specially for you. The content you describe as "boring" includes expertly crafted narratives about centuries-old secrets, untold stories of rebels and artists, scandalous historical events, and fascinating details that even longtime locals don't know. Our audio experience covers over 22 major Amsterdam attractions with insights about hidden architectural details, wartime resistance operations, and cultural traditions. We find it concerning when travelers write negative reviews without properly engaging with the booking process or following the clearly outlined instructions provided in our Additional Information section. This type of review misleads genuine travelers who are looking for accurate information about our service quality and delivery methods.

The only hitch is the parking space
You will get lots of fancy stuff ranging from cosmetics to brass statues. The cosmetic stuff is generally good and reliable. Some of their soaps are good - rate very high on TFM (total fatty matter). Local population can check out their ayurvedic products too. Use public transportation if you are planning on going to this place. Avoid cars at all costs. There is paid parking available in the same street for two-wheelers. But cars are a definite no-no.

Driver was amazingly safe in spite of the scrum on the streets of Chennai. He took me to several great shops, even returning to one so that I could pick up a scarf that I had seen and passed on earlier. We finished up our shopping trip at a great place to buy Indian candy.

Why this scores 42
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.
How much does Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $6 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amsterdam Self-Guided Audio Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
